use the $20 off $100 coupon, not the 10% off coupon.

Edit - Used the 20 off 100 coupon that expires 8/7/03 not the one that expires 8/31/03 and it worked fine.

officedepot is shady like that. last week there was a similar deal (rebate + coupon) with the 120 gig HD. it said OOS during the rebate period. as soon as the rebate period was over, it came back in stock. i think OD intentionally puts all their rebate deals on backorder so that noone can use the coupon on top of the rebates...cuz if u dont use the coupon while placing ur order, it wont show up when they ship u ur item from backorder. imo:evil::|

How can I get this deal to work for me in Canada? I can't even find this hard drive on the officedepot.ca site and the U.S. version (.com) redirects me to the Canadian site. I want to pick one of these up because the $30 US rebate says open to Canadian and U.S. residents. I don't know about that $20 off $100 but I would assume I can use that too. Can anyone please help me out?

Yes does anyone know how to get this to go through with the error messages that come up?

Also be warned all Maxtor 8MB drives in a retail package are 1 year warranty to US residents. The only way you can get a 3 year warranty is purchase an OEM version of the 8MB that is 120GB plus in size. I went round and round with Maxtor about this when I jumped on the 160GB deal a few weeks ago for $99 AR.

At least with WD you have the option purchase the extra warranty.
