I just bought this OEM and from the reviews I have read it is supposed to be decently silent and Anand had it rec'd on his June midrange buyers guide...It is silent when idle but during accesses, the hd is pretty audible and I can hear the whirring sound. It sounds like if someone was stepping on gravel. It is really audible during huge hd access like installing a game, etc. I never really had an issue with the "click of death" sounds so I dont know what that sounds like. Should I be worried and get a replacement before/if it dies later if this is a problem? My old comp I had for 3 years had a huge/loud hs fan so I'm also not used to hearing hd access if I am supposed to. I may also be worrying too much b/c this is all in a new computer I built =-/
