Maxtor DiamondMaxPlus 40gb Which One?

I'm building a new system and I want the Maxtor diamondmax plus 40gb hd. I went to onvia and checked out their prices and they seem to have 2 maxtor 40gb 7200 on sale.
One is retail and the other is not. Anyone know what the difference is???

I would say with a hard drive there is no real point going retail, if you need IDE cable, it may be a different story, but that is just about the whole difference between the two.

Well I noticed that the mfg. number are different. The non retail mfg. number matches the mfg. number on maxtor's site for the 40gb hard drive. I'd say just get the non retail. You will probably only get the hard drive and possibly an ata 66 cable. If you want maxtor's MaxBlast Utility for setting up the hard drive you can download it from maxtor's site. I got my maxtor DMAX 30.7gb non retail and it works perfectly.
