maxtors should not have any problems with Promise ATA cards, considering the "maxtor brand" ata card is actually just a rebadged promise. that would suck if you are selling ata cards under your name that are not even compatible with your own hds. of course, that wouldn't be a first

went to my local store and had two in stock both were ATA 100 for $129. They would not take the thirty off code with out the printed coupon. Someone please give us a clue on the printable coupons.

The problem is with the RAID card, not the regular ATA/100 card. I've hacked the Maxtor ATA/100 card to RAID myself but never actually got the second HD to check it out.
