interesting, i agree with you completely, i too used to wake up early on sat. morning chilling with my blanket and turning on the tube to catch say the smurfs etc. i noticed too over the years that there are no more cartoons but i didn't know why until you put it in words. it's a shame. heh cartoons on sat. morning was a major reason my mom couldn't force me to saturday school ha ha.

Actually the WB network was doing a GREAT job there for a while. THey had Batman/Superman, X-Men, Men In Black, and a whole host of other really good shows. In fact, I think Superman was one of the greatest cartoons that was ever made! Now they show crappy Pokemon and Card Captors junk and totally ruined it. Fox even brought back the original Transformers.....then I was sickened to see it was "Anime-ized" with dorky Japanese storylines and weird characters. Nobody can ever leave well enough alone :|

Yea I saw about 2 episodes and about lost my lunch, that is the biggest piece of crap show I have ever seen, to bad they butchered the Transformers.

I to remember waking up on Saturdays in my transformer PJ's with the little booties and watch Cartoons from like 7 am to 11. God I miss those days

Ah yes, the 80s were the pinaccle of cartoons! I'm sorry to see fox abandon their saturday morning cartoons. X-Men and Spiderman were awesome shows, and i'd wake up early just for those.

Oh, and don't criticize the crummy new transformers show for being anime like. If you notice, the original was basically an anime in itself. Just like a how the humans like Spike were drawn. I would really love to see Cartoon Network or something pick up classic cartoons though, like the ones you guys have lsited. Especially Transformers and GI Joe.

If I am not mistaken was CN like that back in the day. Before they started doing those stupid Cartoon Cartoons (don't really watch them......) Yea they so need the 80's cartoons. They do play Smurfs but thats about it.

So Fox is giving up Saturday cartoons? Starting when? I loved the first 2 seasons of Digimon. I also really loved that Spider Man cartoon to. Oh well even the most loved things must die

did anyone go out and get theirs? it was sold out the first day it came out. i managed to get the final copy. just finished watching 3 beginning episodes last night and wow lots of nostalgia. but i also realize how cheesy the dialogue is! i guess when you're a kid, the transforming factor really outshines the poor dialogue and storyline. ehehe.

Wow.. what about Snorks, Tranzor Z or The A-Team (animated, of course), Captain N, Super Mario Bros, Super Mario World, etc? All excellent 80's cartoons.

Jem sucked. My Little Pony and Care Bears sucked worse.

The only recent animated series that was any good (besides Batman:TAS) was Gargoyles.
WB destroyed Card Captor Sakura when it was brought over, and Transformers: Car Robots was similarly destroyed.

omg im so saddened by the death of saturday morning cartoons -- like the rest of ya, it was all id do every saturday morning -- in the later years, eek the cat became my favorite, does anyone else miss the heck out of that?! it was so funny, and the terrible thunder lizards on it omg haha! also id kill (and/or pay money) for the super mario super show and captain n on DiVX -- anyone remember the wizard, the shameless self-promo fred-savage film that nintendo and universal studios put out? bought it on vhs from amazon awhile back, but wish i could get it on DVD or divx
