Subtitling it “Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival” invites the Dem candidate (HOPEFULLY!) to highlight all the things happening in Florida that Americans DON'T want for their country. “Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival" has got a "MAGA" twinge to it. It should be “Florida’s Unmitigated Blueprint for America’s Revival”, or: FUBAR.

He’s theoretically on a “book tour” to promote the book, but he’s talking like he’s campaigning and there’s a lot of speculation that this tour is really a pre-campaign warmup to get attention before he officially announces his candidacy.

I'm wondering how do they build a campaign around this guy? He is not personable. He has a weak, almost irritating voice. His message is not upbeat in any way. And who do you pair him with? Rick Scott? Huckabee Sanders? That would be American Gothic. Hailey or Lake maybe. Lake being the most likely because she is charismatic and can carry off the batshit crazy schtick with a straight face while Ron just stands there. Huckabee Sanders would be more suited for Trumps running mate as she is more Pence like. She'll just stand there behind Trump and be obedient looking like her face belongs in his ass, while Trump does his crazy at the mike.

I wonder about his appeal to any group of undecided voters. To his base, Trump is the ‘crazy uncle’ funny. lovable guy who says stuff they just think. You can pick and choose from his rambling babble. DeSantis is deliberate and mean. Pivoting will be difficult for DeSantis. If it's he and Lake, they might, instead, go full on bat shit crazy Trump. That might be their best bet. It could draw crowds. Same schtick with new chants. He and Trump should be an all-out shitshow. I'm inclined to write the DeSantis campaign a note helpfully suggesting a campaign slogan that I thought would be useful in his battle with Trump: “Ron DeSantis, a fascist who can actually spell ‘fascist’!

For not now letting him into any situation he does not totally control. That's not going to work for long though and once the war with Trump goes openly hot.

Yeah, do they pivot him to the center somehow? That may be his best bet for control, but his policies don't look at all to the center. I don't see how that can be done really. If Trump was still the absolute dominant force in the Republican party like he was in 2020 then DeSantis might have considered sitting out so as to avoid getting on Trump’s bad side. Even though I believe that if DeSantis does win the election for POTUS, he will immediately pardon Trump for any and all federal indictments against him.

For Trump’s part, win or lose the grift goes on, so he won’t back down, and the louder and more obnoxious he is the more he can rile his remaining supporters to hand over the cash. Losing the nomination just opens the window to “stop the steal 2024 primary edition” with 50 individual elections that were fixed by the RINO deep state. Give them knives and put them in the dome. “Two men enter, one worm leaves!”
