My daily Low-Wattage Ron Dishonest rants.

Finally, Ron is doing something to help the citizens of Florida. I'm going to save a ton of money.
...Wait, no, never mind. It was a false alert.

The new law will require drug manufacturers to notify the state of price increases.

It will also prohibit pharmacy benefit managers, or PBM’s, from forcing a patient to restart a medication when they switch insurance companies.

“Right now, you have three of these PBM’s control 80% of the prescription drug market,” DeSantis said. “And what, who this really hurts of course is consumers but also hurts neighborhood pharmacies.”

During the relatively short period since DeSantis overhauled the New College Board of Trustees, we've seen:

The firing of Patricia Okker, a president who actually espoused the same views on political diversity that the board trustees claim to possess.

The firing of the college's diversity officer, for no compelling reason.

The firing of the college's provost, also for no compelling reason.

The raiding of the college's foundation fund to pay the outsized salaries of the interim president and new foundation appointees.

The denial of tenure to several faculty members.

The posting of religious propaganda on New College's social media platform.

The commitment of huge sums of money toward creating an athletics program that no one at the college –other than the trustees board – believes is vital or necessary.

The distasteful mocking of New College students who have expressed concerns about the radical and rapid changes taking place at the school.

And now the trustees have taken yet another unfortunate step by firing Helene Gold, New College's information librarian and associate dean of academic engagement, as part of what they have called a restructuring plan.

I guess we'll have to wait to find out if the trademark infringing baseball hats promoting Ron are associated with his campaign. It will probably take the NYT and WaPo to dig deep enough to figure it out. We know how dishonest Ron and his tug buddies like to hide things.

For homeowners, Florida is essentially melting down economically under DeSantis. Several home insurance carriers have gone bankrupt, 14 have pulled out of the state, insurance premiums have tripled or worse, mandatory flood insurance even if you live inland on high ground, and soaring property taxes.
No wonder he spends all his time playing political theater with Disney and LGBT rights.

Don't forget some of the highest car insurance rates in the country as well.

When you balance it all out, I'm pretty sure that even with no income tax FL "taxes" are still higher than what a majority of the country pays. Things like the insane insurance increases are no joke. But as long as you don't call it a tax, the rubes don't notice.

I trust nothing out of the Florida legislature, but I'd like to see real data on this one with regards to the benefits and cons. The wiki page for this material appears to be biased, but it was claiming extremely low levels of radioactivity due to trace amounts of Uranium. No claims were made to how good of pavement it would actually make, though.

Seems like spreading it out and encasing it might be better than just huge open air piles of it.

Maybe this is a good thing: Radioactive material can have an inverse effect on the ability for men and women to reproduce. In a few years, we may find out that they just ended the ability for Floridan's to procreate. Which will help reduce the number of stupid people in future generations because they will be unable to pass on the "Stupid" gene. If this is the case, I hope all the MAGA and unstable right wing nuts, flock to Florida. Maybe Texas can follow suit. (all sane conservatives and Democrats should leave the state if they do)

The half-life of the radioactive particles in it are much longer than the concrete itself, obviously. They know that it will end up back in the environment eventually, and it'll only take a few decades for that road to need replacing.

Thankfully, anyone responsible for approving and enabling it won't be around, so why should they care now? Out of sight, out of mind.

I guess I'll have to start wrapping my junk with lead.

I predict the state will keep Chernobyl roads a secret.
