No he didn't get the sweet deal as it fell apart in court.

Hunter Biden was expected to plead guilty to two federal misdemeanor counts of failing to pay his taxes after reaching a plea agreement with Weiss. But the deal collapsed last month over confusion about a separate felony gun possession charge, and Biden instead pleaded not guilty.

At a court hearing last month, Judge Maryellen Noreika said that she wouldn't accept or reject the plea agreement until both sides had addressed her concerns over its terms.
Hunter is being persecuted.

The Steel Dosier was pure political persecution.

If he is charged and convicted of a crime then he should be punished as the law permits. So far there has been no convictions.
You've got a short memory. The creation of the Steele Dossier (Republicans commissioned it) was part of oppo research that happens during campaigns. It was a compilation of raw intelligence, yet Pubs treated it as a finished product.

Let's assume everything in the Steele Dossier was 100% false - @pcgeek11 is calling it 'political persecution'. If saying untrue things about your political opponents is political persecution then he's going to be so mad when he learns about what the Republicans have been up to for the last several decades.

Interesting he suddenly cares about possibly lying about your opponent when the guy he voted for is the best lying President of all time.

Wow. He's making Jeb in 2016 look good. 8 percent. Even if that is off by 10, that's pitiful.

The suck part is now he'll be coming back to FL, not that the state government has needed him much as they continue their jihad against education.

The real question is, will they try to abolish term limits? It's pretty obvious Desantis is never going to make it on the big stage despite his relative youth---though he might follow in Rick "I should be in jail" Scott's footsteps and try for Senator. He, and they, might just go for "big fish in little pond" state Emperor for life.

If prosecutors believe they can prove a crime against Trump should they bring charges even if they would almost never bring similar charges against an average citizen?

It’s pretty simple logic that you’re trying really, really hard not to address.

If a crime is suspected and they have proof or think they have enough evidence to prove it then yes they should charge it regardless of if they are an average citizen or famous.

When exactly was he charged with any crimes based on the Steel Dosier?

I said he was persecuted not prosecuted.

What to Know
Prosecute is most often used to refer to bringing legal action against someone else, and is related to the Latin word for "pursue." It is often confused with persecute which means "to harass, torment, or punish, especially for one's beliefs." If you find yourself frequently one the wrong side of prosecution, you might end up feeling persecuted.

Yes, if you or I has a bunch of highly classified documents that we’re keeping in your bathroom and refuse to return them even under subpoena we would be having this conversation through a prison phone.

Their real complaint is the law is being applied to conservatives at all.

I have no issues with the charges for the classified documents... The courts will decide.

So now we agree Trump isn’t being persecuted then?

No, we don't agree. Why are you always trying to put words in my mouth.

They need to get on with it. How many years has this been going on? Since he was elected. Time to shit or get off the pot. I haven't much doubt that they will eventually convict him of something with as much effort that has been expended it is bound to happen, sooner or later.

Persecution is when a criminal who keeps criming faces repercussions for those crimes.

I’m not, I’m just trying to parse your evasions to get at what you’re really saying.

You said Trump is persecuted but also said the law should treat everyone equally. Trump was indicted for things any normal person would be indicted for, which is what you are asking for.

Can you explain the tension between your idea that Trump is being persecuted and that he’s being treated as a normal person?

What I'm saying that you can't seem to grasp is that of the plethora of allegations that have been brought up about Trump and thrown against the wall to see what sticks, some which have valid standing and should be followed up on. Some are simply BS and should have never been brought. No I'm not going to parse through all the crap and sort it out. The some examples are the Russia BS and the Steel Dosier, the New York Indictment.

In all honesty I would rather see him drop out of the race, he does have too much baggage.

I have no interest in discussing the Steele Dossier or the Trump campaign’s proven collusion with Russia.

So the one legal thing you mentioned as persecution was the New York indictment. Why is it persecution, specifically? Are you saying normal citizens wouldn’t face those charges? They do routinely.

So explain your logic to us - where is the persecution? This should be easy.

It’s really not that. I just (perversely) enjoy these sort of interactions.

He knows he’s full of shit. I know he’s full of shit. He doesn’t want to admit it though because nobody wants to admit they are full of shit. If he wants to pretend he’s not I’m happy to pretend along with him.

I imagine the end result will be that he never changes his opinion and eventually disappears but in the end we will both know.

Maybe he means Trump feels persecuted, which is likely.

I’m pretty confident he feels Trump is being treated unfairly on an emotional level.

I’m also pretty confident he realizes he can’t back that up on a logical level which is why we get the endless evasions and hand waving.
