Shut down and move to a blue stateI'll definitely be interested to see how willing Disney is to ramp up this back and forth.

Brilliant, propose a $7 million sales tax exemption for gas stoves for vice signaling, and also increase the budget for the dog and pony show to defend your bullshit laws by a few mil. Very beneficial to the people of Florida.DeSantis asks for millions of dollars more to fight lawsuits

Whoops, tax payers keep getting to pay for meatballs culture war
I had a great learning experience living as a minority in the Anaheim/Orange/Garden Grove area for about 2 years. My apprehension, basically disappeared in a relatively short time. Wondered what I was scared about. And yes, I saw more people in hand cuffs being apprehended by the local popo, in my life, but it seemed to be more of a policing style down there. Nice weather, just have them sit on the curb.I don't even have a sense of it. Where I live there are certainly conservatives but the region at large is anything but conservative (SF Bay Area, in my case, Berkeley, which prides itself on its progressiveness, often embarrassingly). This is NOT a conservative community, in large part because it's incredibly diverse. Even whites, it seems to me, are a minority. Seems like everybody's a minority!
Two months before Election Day 2020, Susie Wiles stood uncomfortably inside a hospitality tent in Florida, caught between two proud and exacting men whom she had helped elect: President Donald Trump and Gov. Ron DeSantis.
DeSantis was not thrilled to see her.
A year earlier, Wiles had been one of the most powerful people in the Florida governor’s orbit, leading his political operation and plotting his path to national prominence. Then he abruptly banished her, privately questioning her loyalty and moving to blackball her across Republican politics.
Hell hath no fury...Desantis got pissed at her and dropped her. i believe he will come to regret it.
DeSantis also said: “Some of these controversies that come up, and people can kind of just say, ‘Oh, well it’s kind of a one-off, yeah, it was stupid to do,’ but it’s part of a larger thing where corporate America is trying to change our country. Trying to change policy, trying to change culture, and you know, I’d rather be governed by we the people than woke companies, and so I think [the] pushback is in order across the board including with Bud Light.”
If he does this hopefully one day he will be able to enjoy the view of Disney World from his jail cell.Gov. Groomer threatens to build a prison right next to Disney. Still hasn't caught his white whale.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' ongoing feud against the Walt Disney Company has begun to draw ire from conservatives who argue the GOP politician is wrongfully interfering in business matters — and acting against the Republican party platform.
DeSantis’s staff and allies recognize that he’s struggling, according to people familiar with the matter, and have sought in particular to improve his encounters with ordinary voters. He spent close to an hour working the room at a dinner in New Hampshire on Friday, for example — though he was surrounded by a coterie of aides and security guards who closely monitored his interactions.
You go Ron.

Among the changes board members made Wednesday were eliminating a planning agency and making the board responsible for future planning. They also said that in the future, they might consider acquiring more land under eminent domain, monetizing the district’s assets, banning COVID-19 vaccine and mask mandates, asserting the board's “superior authority” over the district and exploring the construction of affordable housing for Disney workers on Disney World property.

I have yet to be convinced that this man is coming anywhere near the nomination let alone the presidency if nothing else due to sheer arrogant incompetence in basic politics.
Funny they claim they wanted to work with Disney, but Disney made them go bat shit instead. Yeah, except all of you are in record as wanting to fuck over Disney before the Disney changes came to light.Ron's new Disney board is meeting and making decisions today.

Has to be one of the best take down ads of all time.I laughed hard at this. I'm also pissed at the Dems because this is the kind of ad they should be running against Republicans.
As the guy in the ad said, "why aren't the Dems running ads like this".Has to be one of the best take down ads of all time.
One GOP legislator privately said: “We’re not the party of cancel culture. We can’t keep doing this tit for tat.” The lawmaker was granted anonymity to speak freely about the GOP governor.

“People are deeply frustrated," said former state Sen. Jeff Brandes, a St. Petersburg Republican who has been talking to his former GOP colleagues frequently this session. "They are not spending any time on the right problems ... Most legislators believe that the balance of power has shifted too far and the Legislature needs to re-establish itself as a coequal branch of government."
