Mayo on hamburgers

eh? unitasker? it's a knife. if something needs cutting it works. also works well on cheese, citrus, sausage (seriously, they're the same kind of knife), etc.

Still, seems a waste to use anything but your primary knife for tomatoes. A sharp edge is not that hard to get.

I love tomatoes on burgers and sandwiches but damn do I suck at trying to cut tomato slices.

Mandoline. Found a really nice one at my local TJ Maxx, must have been clearance somewhere else that I absolutely love. I love thin tomato slices and if you have a mandoline, you can cut a whole tomato in perfectly even slices in less than a minute.

It works for other things. Any kind of vegetable, really. I make super thin potato slices for homemade chips. It doesn't do sweet potato very well though. Those things are friggin rock solid.

The mayo acts as a protective layer, preventing hamburger grease from oversaturating your bun and turning it into a soggy mess.

That is what lettuce on the top and cheese on the bottom are for as mayo is one of the grossest things on the planet.

I like Ketchup and Mayo on my burgers... NO MUSTARD.

I do like mustard on my hotdogs or soft pretzels though.
