Floyd tossed that monkey-wrench into the gears because he knew that Manny has a hang-up about giving blood, so he knew it would get him out of the fight while convincing the easily gullible (ahem, you!) that it was Manny backing out.

Keep repeating to yourself. Blood tests are always after the fight. Blood tests are always after the fight. Blood tests are always after the fight. Once that sinks in maybe you'll begin to comprehend which guy was attempting to wuss out.
