MB install problem...help me

I replaced my 166mmx atx mb with a soyo mb and celeron 633.. I have it all put together properly, have checked everything several times. It powers up but I can't get any video on my monitor. The manual states I should be seeing the bios come up on the screen, but it stays blank and does not even flicker on boot up. The monitor works fine. any suggestions??? I have never done this before, thought it would be a good way to learn. thank you

OK...More info is needed....
What video card did you have on the 166? Are you using the same
video card with the new motherboard? Does the new motherboard
have the video "built in"? You said it's a Celeron and a Soyo M/B.
If you're using a Soyo Intel 810 chipset the M/B video is "built in" and if you also installed your old video card, you may have conflicting video chipsets.........Greg

Here goes

It does have built in video, 82810 intel chipset. I called soyo and spoke to someone. He said to take the MB out of the case , put in memory and leave in cpu. Then attach only to power supply. It should beep when powered, well it does not. I think he said that this would mean the MB was bad or the cpu was bad. When I take out the cpu there is still no beep. I am totally confused now. The mb is a soyo SY-7IWM/L and I am using a celeron 633 socket 370.

I have had this happen before and it sound like a bad motherboard. Try you other components in other machines and if they work there, i would say that's what it is

If you've taken the M/B out of the case and all you've got installed is the P/S, video, and memory and on powerup you don't get a beep...
it could be 3 things:
1) bad motherboard
2) bad memory
3) memory is not seated correctly on M/B
I spent 3 days once without the beep and finally found that the
1st of my memory sticks wasn't seated tightly........

Yeah, you need to make sure your cpu and memory are seated tightly. I've also seen problems where the mobo is touching something and conducting to it which will not allow you to boot (that's y he told you to take it out of the case) I've seen the front panel block pins bent and touching, that had the same effect. Check the board closely, if nothing still you're going to need to swap some parts with a friend or something to pin point which it is... the motherboard, cpu or ram.

I have it back in the case. The memory and cpu have been reset a few times and I still get the same result. I have disconnected everything else on the MB. All the power and other pin connectors are correct. No beep and no video. Thanks for your help.
