McD: Fish parts (aka fillet 'o fish) vs cow parts with soy bits (aka McDouble)

Fillet 'o fish is now on their 2 for $2.50 menu.

1 McDouble is 1.79.
1 fillet is 2.19.

So instead of buying my usual 2 McDoubles, I got 2 Fillets.

I like bargains..Lol.

But I think the McDouble tastes better.

Given the 2 choices, Which would you choose?

I actually kind of enjoy the Filet O Fish; pretty yummy. I really wish they had the Ebi Filet-O here though, it's the prawn burger they have at McDonalds in Japan, sort of like an ebi mayo on a bun. So freaking good; I would eat those way too often.

Hmm, I've never tried the BK fish burger but I definitely prefer the BK chicken burger to the McChicken.

PSA: make sure you tell them to hold the Ketchup and Mustard. i forgot once, lets just say Ketchup, mustard and MacSauce is a unholy trinity.

That seems to be the thing with any places that serve fish, even the "fancier" ones. Two pieces of huge fish, and a tiny little container of tartar sauce. Come on man I paid like $19.99 for this! There's a place here called the Fish Bowl they always give you a tiny little container, the same ones McDonald's uses for ketchup. I always ask for more then they bring me like 8 of them, that's much better!

Love the FoF. It's one of their most expensive sandwiches due to supply constraints. Why would it be on the 2 for $2.50 menu? A single sandwich is like $4 here.

Nothing fast food is going to be high quality of course, I used to like the White Castles fishies myself decades ago.

It's not like they are serving up fresh Grouper.

I've had good and bad filet-o-fish at McDonalds. Arby's is always just OK. I've never had any other fish sandwich come close to a filet-o-fish that was done right.

No red meat during Lent "season"is still very common.

The year-round Fish Fridays where every restaurant has fish specials because no Catholic ate red meat on Fridays (or something like that) seems to be much less common, now.

I like the FlietO'Fish a good bit, but they've made me sick twice. I suspect the tartar sauce went bad, cause nothing should survive what the fish has been through.
