McDonalds- 6 quarter pounders = 1 lb of beef

ok, i'm thinking when mcdonalds say quarter pounder pre-cook weight, it's .25 lbs of beef.

nope. USDA allows them to count ice chips as pre-cook weight as well.

so if 1 lb of beef makes 6 quarter pounders, then each burger = 1/6 of a pound of beef.

so 4 quarter pounders = 2/3 lb of beef and 1/3 lb of ice chips! :|

hell, i'm surprised they dont dip each burger in water b4 they ship so u get ice chunks.

It actually takes a lot more than 6 if you count the wet newspaper they mix in with the beef.

Hey... dont forget when you cook things they lose 1/3 of their weight... so 4 burgers would be only 2/3 of a lb..... add 2 more burgers for another 1/3 of a pound..... hey look.. there's your 6 1/4 pounders pre cooked adding up to 1 lb
