McDonalds Math Riddle!

Out of all the combinations of chicken nuggets you can buy (6, 9, and 20), what is the MOST amount you CANNOT buy? For example, I can buy 21 (6+6+9), but I CANNOT buy 22 (no combination available). Figure it out!

In college, my friends and I would always get the 20 Pcs. when they went on sale for $2.99. It was definitely tough if not impossible to eat them all in one sitting, even though at the time I was 40 lbs heavier. Usually I had two meals of 10 nuggets apiece.

The best McDonald's story I have is when they had 39 cent cheeseburgers on Sundays and my fraternity had a Super Bowl party. We had a sign up sheet, people were signing up for 10 - 20 cheeseburgers (so we would have extras for guests). We pre-ordered them in the morning and when we went over there to get 'em, they were just handing us bags upon bags full of cheeseburgers. I think we ordered over 200 cheeseburgers - not sure if they ever all got eaten or not.

The answer is any # between 50 & 59 if you're only buying 3 boxes of 6, 9, or 20 pc
20 + 20 + 20 = 60
20 + 20 + 9 = 49

I don't think there was a limit of 3 boxes in the original problem. So for example, you could buy 9 boxes of 6 (or 6 boxes of 9 ) to get 54. Assuming you can buy as many boxes of each number as you want, I believe the correct answer is:

I think you might be...for under 60 at least...

The only thing I know for sure is that it can't be divisible by 3...for any number above 3

The largest prime number (if there is one) would not be the solution to this problem anyways, because the problem allows for a linear combination of multiple factors (6, 9, and 20).

I can quickly show that any number greater than 100 is attainable. If you look at the multiples of 9 up to 90, and look at the one's digits, all digits 0-9 are produced. So from this, any number greater than 100 can also be produced by taking each multiple of 9 and then adding multiples 20 or 30 (6*5).

101 = 81 + 20
102 = 72 + 30
103 = 63 + 20 * 2
104 = 54 + 20 + 30
105 = 45 + 20 * 3

And so on... then, looking at all the numbers less than 100, it doesn't take long to find that 43 is the greatest number with no combination.
