Has anyone been shafted on Monopoly games pieces when they purchased a premium sandwhich, fries or a drink (specifically for the game pieces)? This happened 3 times already... This year...

You can use $250 worth at a time.

Unless you get a dickhead manager who alters the policy for his store knowing full well you've got no recourse whatsoever and calling their Corporate HQ to complain will probably yield results AFTER the damned things are expired.

If it comes to that, make sure you call corporate in the store on a cell phone and have them talk to the manager. Last year the local BB wouldn't let me buy a 360 game with my BBbucks so I called corporate when I got home, they said I could use as many as I wanted on a game. So I called the local store back and they insisted that I was wrong and I couldn't use them on the game; I called corporate back on my cell phone and called the local store on the other. I ended up finally talking to the general manager of the store who told me to have corporate call him. Corporate on the other phone asked for his name, put me on hold, and called them. I ended up being able to get one game, they told me that the store believed people were getting them illegally, they said by digging in garbage, and didn't want to honor that many BBbucks. Of course that shouldn't be illegal as they weren't being used by anyone anyway, but I was sick of arguing with them. I hadn't been to that store till just this last weekend to check out what I would get this year once I recieved all the BBbucks, haven't tried yet but it should be fun trying to use them with the assholes at that store.

Shafted in that you buy say a double quarter pounder with cheese (maybe even 2 of them) fully expecting 4 game pieces only to drive away and it's a plain box no pieces. Worse on top of that that $2.00 box of fries you bought for 2 more pieces... shafted again... plain red box with the big M for Motherforker!!! For the coup de gras that large drink of Coke (and you don't even drink coke as you live healthy and only drink water) over $2.00 for no friggin game pieces. WTF?

Once they run out of game pieces, they arent required to give them out.

The reason being is that they ran out. It does say of until supplies last and they did not. Plain and simple, don't go to McDonald's. That is exactly what the whole thread is about, how to get Best Buy Bucks without going to McDonald's in the first place. It looks like McDonald's and Best Buy was shafted by me and the rest of the people here. I got $74.00 out of it and spent $39.00 which went to the post office so BB lost $74.00

Best Buy was not shafted to the extent that they received a great deal of advertising from the association with McD and they undoubtedly sold other stuff to many who used the bucks. It was a joint promo that benefited both McD and Best Buy, as well as consumers using the bucks.

If you consider that there are 500 million visits to digg, where this story was put up, and also the number of people that watch digg, where the story was as well, there were numerous people all over the world that did this. I will say they were shafted more than their original intent of running this promo. They did not expect all of these people to get about double their money back in BBB. I believe that they may run it again but some how figure out a way to have people not about to write in that many SASE to be able to get the BBB as easily.

They never drew a million, believe me. And think how many bucks were just thrown away unused. I know whereof I speak having taught promotions for about 30 years. At one time McD got into trouble with the Feds because they were giving away several million, supposedly, but had set aside only about $300,000 to cover prizes. Feds considered this prima F evidence they never intended to give that much away. Also, and I am unsure whether this is still a common practice, McD and others laid off most of the huge risk by insuring against big payout. Used to use Lloyd's of London.

Best Buy might or might or might not have even given the full amount of each buck since it could have been underwritten by McD so that they eiter reimburse BB so much for each buck redeemed or simply have BB quote a price for $x worth of bucks ... there are lots of other ways of approaching it as well.

Neither McD nor BB is so dumb as to not have known the costs they would incur. And the freebies with a mail in would have been so few, in comparison to the many million distributed, players of the game did not hurt them at all.

Somebody should try it, someone who has already entered their codes online, go to the store and try to pay for a CD or something. If they say it has already been used, make up some BS excuse about how some of the codes you entered online, and got them mixed up, then just leave.

It works fine, the online codes are different than the UPC. All the UPCs on the $1 are the same, they don't type in the online code for each buck to see if it's been used.

I'm sorry but what law says you can't use Best Buy Bucks online and in store? It is against company policy but the government doesn't really care.
