That's a pretty steep decline. I don't eat there often, but I still love their fries and Big Macs.

They are blaming competition, which is probably fair. Americans are certainly no more health conscious than a year ago, and obesity rates continue to climb to Wall-E levels.

Their food is terrible, and now costs more than it is worth. It used to be McDonalds was a cheap alternative. But now they cost nearly as much as premium fast food joints. Why would I go to McDonalds? And how small can they make their patties? What are they down to, 1/16th of a pound?

I don't eat there often, but on rare occasions I'll stop there for breakfast. I've noticed a drop in quality over the last few years. The eggs taste funky now.

Taco Bell breakfast is waaaaaay better than McDonalds. Ho-lee cow is the breakfast California crunchwrap gooooood.

I gave up on the general "fast food" (accounts for most restaurants with a "Drive-Thru" save Starbucks). Haven't had any a loooooooooong time. I think I cheated and had some Chik-Fil-A a year or 2 ago.

But yeah, why would I eat that processed garbage when I can go to Chipotle and buy a burrito bowl with legit food for $6.50? You can't beat that. The Big Mac meal costs that much these days and it's horrible for you (in both way).

McDonalds has crushed many restaurants thanks to their competition over the years. For once the competition is crushing them. Life sucks sometimes, doesn't it?

McDonalds is no longer 'cheap' in price.

There are far more better alternatives for just as much, if not less. Especially in NYC; there is a burger place, everywhere. And, it's far more fresh and tastier than McDonalds.

the McDonalds here is roughly $7 for a combo meal. For that price i can go to far better restaurants. sure it takes longer but its a far better meal.

Only good thing about McDonalds is that when traveling it's something i know how "good" it's going to be.

McDonalds' menus are also a nightmare to read. If you want to look at sizes and prices you can barely navigate the mashed up menus.

McDonalds also has a violence and crime problem. I don't know how many vidoes I've seen of people getting beat up at a McDonalds. There was yet another McDonalds murder just a few weeks ago. McDonald's gets a sketchy crew.

Hehe, I'll get two regular hamburgers and small fries when I don't feel like cooking. I'll go to the Habit if I feel like a decent milkshake and lettuce and tomato on my burger.

To me, McDonald's has been the same as its always been, in terms of taste of their regular items, and their prices are probably in line with inflation. And you can actually eat "healthy" there, their Southwest Chicken Salad with grilled is something like 500 calories and is actually REALLY good.

I agree with this. I still eat McDonald's once a week or so, maybe once every two weeks. The quality of the food / drink seems to have dropped a little bit (not mind-bogglingly so, of course wasn't the best shit on the planet before), and their fries seem a little worse, too. Could be just me, though.

The price increases are nuts for their historical prices and quality of food. They JUST jacked up a two cheeseburger meal by $0.39 where I live. Yea, doesn't sound like much, but that is like a 7-8% increase. That's fucking crazy, and they've been doing it with everything on their menu for the past few years, at least. Ever since they removed the double cheeseburger from their $1 menu, their prices have gotten out of control for what they offer.

IMO Burger King has great hamburgers, just haven't gone to one in a long time. Probably not high quality meat, but it tastes way better than McDonald's

I eat there every once in a while. Pay $4.85 for two bacon Mcdoubles with no pickles and Mac sauce (i.e. Ghetto Big Mac), and it's fairly edible, bordering on tasty because of the added bacon. Fries are decent too. Paying for their premium shit is no bueno for me though.
