Mmm, that stuff is sooooooooo addicting. $1.00 for a large iced tea... mmmmmmmmm.

Sure does beat the hell out of paying $4.15 for a grande caramel frappucino at Starbucks

North Carolina. We southerners love our sweet tea. And all McDonalds have it, not just the McCafes.

You can even buy it by the gallon for like $3.75 or something like that

Nope he, and I, live in NC.

Seems once you get to about VA border, or north, cold sweet tea gets you a lot of weird looks if you try and order it.

Sweet tea=iced tea, right? I'd never heard the term "sweet tea" before watching one of those "Dateline: to catch a predator" shows, where the young teen tells the perv to drink some while she goes to do something in the other room.

Bojangles' sweet tea is better but I don't drink that high-calorie crack any more

Hah, whenever my buddy from Detroit comes down here, it's the first thing he wants to order. He has family here in TN, and used to drink it as a kid when he would come down to visit. I never realized how baron the north was of sweet tea until I visited northern Ohio last year, and Detroit this year.

Even the McDonalds sweet tea billboards down here say, "It's a southern thing!"

Sweet tea is normally tea which has had sugar added to it while it was warm and is then cooled down and served with ice. Adding sugar to unsweetened iced tea just doesn't work well.

I don't see how people can drink unsweetened iced tea. It's just so nasty.

Sweet tea = tea with sugar.

I always find it funny when random people here in Texas are like, "OMG you got to try this sweet tea, have you ever had it before?"

Moved to DC from Atlanta a while back.

I miss my sweet tea. It is NOT the same to just dump a few sugar packets in normal iced tea. I miss Waffle House too.

Umm...No. I have lived in Virginia my whole life and have been consuming sweet tea the entire time. It was one of those things as a kid that let us know that spring was here. My mother used to make it in a big clay pitcher. Maybe the new neighborhoods in Northern Virginia full of imports from the Northeast may not know about it but almost any native Virginian is very familiar with sweet iced tea.

Sweet tea is about the only thing I'll bother stopping at McDonald's for. But I agree with the other poster that Bojangle's sweet tea is better. It will give you a cavity just from taking a swallow which is how it should be.

I think Marlin was talking about McDonald's, not in general. I'd love to see sweet tea around here, but I don't think it's gonna happen. You'd think McDonald's would treat their hometown market better

Blame marketing...or more likely, blame your neighbors for not liking sweet tea

ahhh, you've got to make your own.

Fill a 48 ounce container 1/3 full with tap hot water
Steep 2 cold-brew tea bags and add sugar (or splenda) and wait about 60-100 secs.
Remove tea bag and stir until sugar is dissolved.
Fill with ice, stirring and poof you've got delicious sweet iced tea in about 3 minutes.

Sweet tea is my weak spot. I'll turn down sodas all day, but sweet tea ... that has been known to get me.

All the McDonalds here in Manassas have been selling it since it was introduced.
