Well, they have coverage in Oakland and it looks like it includes everything. I'd just have a seperate bill for my DSL now.

How did you check for availability? On the website, every form I saw for entering my phone number had text like "Want to Join?" and looked suspiciously like implied consent to switch my LD provider. $50/mo is more than your local and long distance bills?? Not mine, and I don't even have caller id, voicemail, or other plusses. This offer is tempting since I've always wanted to dump my local phone company (Sprint!). We ust switched LD to AT&T unlimited, but haven't seen a bill yet.

One major caveat for those who use dialup, if you read the terms and conditions right before you give them your e-signature, it notes that the service is for voice only and that additional charges may apply if it's used for data or Internet. Great deal for me, I'll save $20 a month, but not for everyone.

Not to bash this deal but... OK, I bash it a little bit. Bash bash bash.

Read the fine print before you get suckered into this deal. It could be good for some but is not a hot deal for any if you read the details.

Are you using Vonage Jeepguy? Save $10 over the MCI deal but you need a router ($25 from them) to use your DSL and phone at the same time.

Obviously not a married person. My wife has kept the phone bill in the $150-200 per month range for longer than the average Anandtecher has been alive. Unfortunately, I'm not in this plan's area either.

My wife got our phone bills up to about $120 for two months in a row recently. I then realized that the people that she was calling most had AT&T so I switched from MCI to the AT&T $19.99 a month plan for unlimited calls to other AT&T subscribers.
