I'm 40-something, born in the USA and never had a McRib. I've seen what McNuggets are made from so I have to wonder about these so called ribs.

I just tried it. It seems a little different from what I remember. Still good.

Not very filling though.

Except for the huge amounts of salt and almost half the calories come from fat, Though there is alot of protein.

The sodium content is really the negative. It has long since been proven that the "anti-fat" brigade was misplaced. Lots of protein, not too many calories, its really not that bad.

In fact, many of McDonald's sandwiches are similar. Going to McD and getting a couple of sandwiches really isn't terrible for you. Its the fries and soda people tend to get with them that are the kickers.

As much as people scoff at the "double quarter pounder w/ a diet coke" stereotype, that person is having a healthier meal than someone getting a regular quarter pounder with regular coke.

They have it at teh McD's in Andover, MA. It was $2.49. Didn't eat one though, I had dinner 1 hour before.

I had my first ever mcrib last night. It was average at best. I don't see how it would be any better than those packaged pork "ribs," or how its any different. Not that it matters, because it just doesn't taste that good anyway. I can pretty safely say I'll never have another mcrib

This is why they keep getting rid of it and brining it back. When they bring it back you will magically forget you didn't like it and rush out because it's so awesome.

This is correct, especially about McD's. Of the fast food joints, they probably have the most reasonable choices available. Hell, I lost 30 lbs and was eating McD's 2-3x a day (breakfast, lunch, snack) because they were closest to my office, had variety, and had easily accessible nutrition info. 1500 cal a day was easy to do when they have a few ~300cal menu options.

Well I loved these when I was a kid but after seeing that mechanically seperated chicken video, I'm really reluctant to try it now.

It is still just mushed up and formed pork right?

Yup. There have been response studies to Supersize Me that basically did what he did, only without being lards about it (seriously, did you see what he got? He loaded up, he didn't get normal meals), and they actually lost weight.

Eating a mcrib right now. Delicious. Too bad some of you can't enjoy it only because it's from the evil McDonalds.

I tried it 2x since last week, and I'm not impressed.

The "rib" itself has little flavor, but it's smothered in that tangy sauce (which isn't too bad, but it's not that great, either). I think I prefer the other burgers and sandwiches McDonald's has, including the McChicken and the regular hamburger.

The McRib reminds me of the elementary school lunch Salisbury steak sandwiches that I used to eat. Except they aren't as good.

I used to work at McDonald's, and McRib fans are about as crazy as Islamic Fundamentalists or that Christian group who wants to steal a nuclear bomb.

It's not a product that works well with McDonald's workflow, it really jams the whole production line up if they aren't careful.

Plus it tastes terrible.

I just had 2 and they were not good at all. There was very little sauce on both sandwiches.

I'd ask for a manager on that. You paid for heaven and you didn't receive heavenly sauce. Explain that you came specifically for piggy rib sauce and you did not receive crack sauce. Demand satisfaction, you DESERVE satisfaction.
