Do you guys order "spaghetti marinara" and expect meat?
I've seen stuff marketed as marinara that has meat in it.

Wrong.
Lasagna is lasagna. Lasagna without meat is meatless Lasagna.
Since you don't have to put any qualifiers in front of lasagna, that infers that it comes with meat.
Help me resolve an problem with a coworker and fellow ATOT member. Should Lasagna have meat in it or not? I am not talking about your fancy lasagnas, just your normal everyday lasagna. He even screwed up his own arguement stating that a vegetarian would ask when ordering it at a restaurant if it had meat in it or not.
EDIT: Because he is saying I worded it wrong even though to me it makes sense. He says that the question should be, Does Lasagna normally have meat in it.
Lasagna is no different than any other pasta dish. I don't assume spaghetti has meat in it unless it is qualified with "and meatballs".
Good point. If a good looking woman says to put meat in it, you put meat in it.

Ah, but it is different.
Spaghetti is simply noodles and a tomato based sauce. Spaghetti with meatsauce, spaghetti with meatballs, etc, all imply it comes with meat. Traditional spaghetti is just noodles and sauce though with no meat.

what is this, Olive Garden?
This whole thing came up yesterday because here at work, I work with Viperxx(crazy guy who doesnt put meat in lasagna), every two weeks we do a lunch potluck type thing and he wanted to make lasagna. We were all shocked when he said that he makes it without meat because that is the proper way to make it. This has now lasted two days and I know will keep going. So today at lunch we had his lasagna. He made one with meat and one with out. Guess which one he went for first?!?!? The one with MEAT!!! It is the better of the two and we than named the other spaghetti casserole.
Freaking ratass tattle tell!!!!!!!
I always assume there is meat in the lasagna unless someone explicitly tells me otherwise.

MEAT!
At this point I'm afraid the poll is corrupted by personal preference, and isn't really something you wager a technical definition on. Cause after I voted for meat I got to thinking about Spaghetti, and then realized not all sauces have meat. So I got to wondering if that is true for one, then perhaps it must be true for another.
Which case I'm prepared to accept 'no meat' but I've already jumped the gun on the way I think it should be.
Normal... defined by the majority, still doesn't substitute for an actual definition. Of course we love meat, and most of what we eat will include that. Doesn't mean it necessarily has to.

There is no correct answer for this question except the correct answer is yes it does. Lasagna without meat is just egg noodles and ketchup.
