Seems like most people play terrain control now. Large maps with multiple cap points, some of which are mech bays where you can launch a full suite from, others only light/medium.

Seems like they are 'Unseen' and there's issues with using the 'Reseen' version.

Short story: The Battletech Universe created some mechs which were almost direct copies from another franchise. There were a lot of legal issues involved, mechs were redesigned, there were more legal issues involved and it all seems like people are still arguing over laws and stuff.

So anything that is classed as Unseen or Reseen, don't bet on it because they could be costly to add into the game.

I doubt the release date is anytime soon and would be surprised if it was released this year even. It looks like they are focusing on testing the core of the game right now and there is a ton of stuff not even added yet. More Mechs that were already announced publically, more electronic suites like NARC Beacon, BAP, Artemis system, etc. Then there's the House faction stuff they need to add in, balanced with Merc groups and Lone Wolves.

The Robotech Destroids are my favorite designs. Shame that the licensing is a total cluster...

Warhammer was always my favorite. Especially if you can field LRM 20s in the torsos.

August 7th is the second phase of the closed beta. Only reason we knew this date was because that was originally when founders were guaranteed to get it.

Hard to say. The Archer was one of the designs FASA was sued for using (just like the Rifleman, Warhammer, Marauder, Phoenix Hawk, and several others). Given that the use of a Warhammer in the initial concept reboot for MW got them in all kinds of legal issues, I would say no.

Macross was butchered/spliced into Robotech in the US using *two completely unrelated mech series in the 1980s.

If you are into mechs and enjoy anime, you should track down a copy online and enjoy some great mech action with a compelling story.

I was 9 at the time. Unfortunately each run was like $15-20, and when you're 9 years old in 1992, $15-20 is a lot of money!

So far, I am not impressed. I can see the game having a lot of potential but right now it barely feels even half finished. It has a long, long way to go for a game that's supposed to release before the end of the year.

was able to FINALLY play a bit again. the defined boundries on the map are nice. Id really like more info in front of your eyeballs. im finding myself hardly looking at my damage or the other mechs damage. and the weapon refresh is waaaaaaaaaaaaay in the bottom right. im so focused i cant see whats going on around me. just need more training i guess.
