I hope they institute class battles again like in mech2. C1 = energy weapons only, C2 = non locking weapons only, C3 = all.

I wonder if I can chain a NARC to the Arrow IV to give the narc a MUCH longer range...

Also if you pay $1 you can shoot gold LRM20 rounds!

Checked my status, didn't realize, or their webpage failed on me before, that there was more than just submitting your system specs. Finished the rest of the questionnaire and now sitting at 100% done and pending.

Although I'd love to buy one of the packs, I get the feeling I should keep my money for now. Different looks don't mean much in the heat of battle, C-Bills can be earned in-game and "founder" tags aren't all that interesting.
My biggest problem is zero info from the closed beta, can't make any rational decisions based on it if I want "early access".

Well, there's still time to ponder.

People were concerned about having to buy four elite packs in order to get all four Founder mechs, and either Garth or Paul mentioned there was an answer to that...makes sense.

In for Elite myself, huge MW fan. That's right, MW, I'm not giving it back.

I was looking at the email today. Seems to me that for $120 they don't give you much. Only 3 months of premium? Not sure what the $80 of in game currency can buy since I haven't played any beta. Maybe someone in the know can break it down as to what the values of everything means.

No clue, but seems to say there will be an open beta period before it goes into effect so should get a chance to play and find those things out.

Well, the videos look pretty darn good to be honest. If they get that kind of performance I will be really excited. I agree about the $120 with the others. I mean, I don't think it is worth it to be honest. The $60 could be a deal, but it really depends on what the $80 of in game money translates into. Just 3 months of premium for $120 and 4 premium mechs (without knowing a little more about how good they will all be) it is hard to say if that is worth the money.

I am leaning toward the $60 (will probably take the atlas, just like about 95% of the others who would do the $60 deal). If they had a hatchman (which actually used the hatchet), I would have probably gone for that. But from the looks of it, this game has also ignored the physical combat aspects like almost all the previous ones (save for the death-from-above in Mechwarrior, and MW2).

even then that was more of an air-collision with jumpjets clumsily enabled more than an actual "death from above".

Well, to an extent, but if you really were good at it you could kill them by hitting the cockpit. It was definitely more damaging in the original, but it was also much harder to perform as you simply jumped in an arch and speed was partly based on how fast you were moving before you started your jump. In that one, you most definitely had to pay a lot more attention as your legs took a lot more damage from impact with ground or other mechs if you were falling too fast.

I'm not giving no money till I know if this is a pay to win game and if everything will be unlockable with xp or not. Also want to know how much they are actually pricing stuff (xp and money wise)
