No, the 25% bonus is exclusive to the founders mechs, the founders mechs are just the prime variant of that class of mech that you can get in game. Founders for those mechs just get a unique skin and the 25% bonus. Statistically they are the same for gameplay.
So, the definition of 'founders mech' is the mechs in the packages, with skin and bonus, and you *can't* buy them after launch - only mechs otherwise the same.
I tried that but it just moves the highlight up and down.

bockie, read the beta forums stickies, lots of info.
On another note...I wish people would stop trying to play with joysticks. While spectating I see such horrible aim that it is no wonder my Commando died for nothing, harrassing the enemy team but getting little support. The support is there, it just can't hit a barn door.
With double armor and fast moving targets, the difference between mouse and joystick aiming is like night and day.
That doesn't even begin to make sense. Foot pedals for moving and mouse for aiming is where it's at. But really, keyboard is fine.

Nothing in those pictures is extreme.
Joysticks are really only good when you need a constant amount of force applied (like in a plane pulling through a turn), not for discreet movements like aiming a mech torso. This is why a mouse is the best. (Admittedly, this can depend on how the game actually implements the torso movement and how strictly the "gyros" limit the aiming speed and precision. I haven't played a mech game in years, including MWO, where the way torso movement has been implemented is better with something other than a mouse, though.). Foot pedals would be great to control movement direction because A and D can only apply the maximum turning thrust. If you use a foot pedal, you can shove all the way to one side for maximum or only use a little bit to be able to do wider smooth turns. I think it's nice to have pedals with the up/down movement available also to control speed, since in mech games you tend to vary your speed a lot and you can actually feel and learn what angle produces which speed instead of relying on W/S and having to constantly check your set speed meter.
