Because not all threats are delusional. The threat posed by the paranoid with power who are driven by that paranoia is real and not a product of paranoia.

Doesn’t hatred only intensify that perceived threat?

I think there is a circular reasoning here. Because conservatives feel exactly the same way towards liberals and the threat they pose to conservatives. So who is to say what? How can there ever be any dialogue like this?

Why is that so many if not most conservatives are so full of right-wing authoritarianism and bigotry?

And on and on and on.
As a liberal you threw out the baby with the bath water. You fail to see the vital factor respect for authority plays in human survival and threw it out as a moral value. You don’t understand what it meant when Neanderthals put flowers in old people’s graves. The sickness is in authority that is undeserved but demanded, not in authority that is freely earned.

I would say it’s the other way round. The perceived level of the threat increases the anger.

Project often? Trump is a stratovolcano of Hate & discontent. There is no comparable figure among Libs & you know it.

He is. But the left has been angry for a long long time, long before the vile one. Even when it is in power, it is still angry. Yes there are many injustices in society, and there has never been a society in history without injustices. But the level of anger on the left seems to be indicative of something else. What exactly that is I am not very sure.

Even among the people I know personally, the more liberal minded seem to be more angry than the more traditional types..

Angry like fuck your feelings angry? like the giant fuck you to the world that brought us Trump?

The GOP base has been like that since Gingrich, at least. Trump dog whistled the fuck out of them. Mindless dickish scorn for their fellow Americans is a fashion statement on the Right worn like a badge of honor. Not Real Merricuns!

Is it wrong to get angry about the abusiveness of the GOP approach to taxes, social programs, voting rights & all the rest of their pamper the Rich & screw the little guy agenda? About the blatant exploitation of fear & prejudice? Looting the Treasury? Harsh & counterproductive mandatory minimum sentencing? Need I go on?

Damned right we're mad. The America I know is really a lot better than that.

Are you and I not part of the same humanity that murdered more than 100 million of its members just last century alone? I’m not saying guilt by association, but we all create the world we live in.

CNN is slipping down in quality in my opinion. There's way too much editorializing, they're ignoring a lot of stories, and they do things like play Admiral Ackbar's "It's a trap" clip and make up their own stupid cartoons of Trump. It's saddening.

@Noah Abrams

Where are you from exactly?

Your posts read like you have never known a liberal and what being liberal means. Perhaps you need to look up the word.

The post about the NYT being a Bible really says it all. Whoever you are describing isn't a liberal, whether they identify as one or not doesn't make them one. I can say I'm anything I want, and that wouldn't be true just because I believe it.

I have to assume that you live in a predominantly red state, most likely the Bible belt. Perhaps the people who claim to be liberal there are still right of center, but appear to be liberal because they have a few progressive ideals mixed in with their cultural altruism that living in such a place would foster.

Religious evangelicals, which I can tell you rank among just by reading your posts, often conflate their ideals as what is best for everyone, that doesn't make it altruism.

And lastly, your anger and hate narrative is right out of the right wing media. You guys simply can't think for yourselves at all. Liberals are angry yes, but their hated is only directed at people who deserve to be hated. I'll dumb down an example for you. We hate trump because he is a terrible person doing terrible things, you guys hated Obama because he was black, or like my mother "what kind of name is Obama, I can't trust someone like that". Do you see the difference? Of course you don't.

You hate gays because the Bible tells you to, which isn't even true. You hate the colored folk because they are taking your jobs, which probably isn't true. Your entire doctrine in life whether it's political or religious is a lie. You guys lie to yourselves even. You know who holds these values in this country, people over 60. When your generation dies, know that your fascist ideas will die with you.

Hmmm. Initially you seemed to say that liberals are not what I think they are. You are right in the sense that there can’t be an exact definition and everyone is different. But I’ve been around long enough and I think I understand liberalism well enough...

You then painted a caricature of me, which is so off the mark that it wasn’t even funny. I can assure you I’m none of those various “yous”. I do not wish to go into my religious beliefs or lack thereof

You say it seems to be indicative of something else. Why? Could it be a suspicion that allows you to maintain the equivalency thingi so many bring to the table?

Everyone is different, obviously. But yes there can be a certain amount of an "exacting definition" applied to liberals.

Can you be a Christian if you don't believe in Christ? By definition, no. All Christians are different, true. For instance, all Christians that support Trump and hate the gays and colored people aren't Christians. They think they are, but they are not. You most definitely fit in this category and undoubtedly believe you are a Christian despite not understanding Christ's message.

The same goes for being liberal. There are a few absolutes you must agree to before you can call yourself a liberal. Like any philosophy or religion there is plenty of wiggle room and there are also absolute truths.

1) Open to new behavior or opinions and willing to discard traditional values.
This is one of them. There are plenty of gray areas in there but one thing that is black and white - everything is scrutinized, and nothing is taken at face value. How you scrutinize is opinion and open to interpretation. The act of scrutinizing though, based on the source of the information, is not. You cannot just assume the NYT is gospel without applying the scientific method, or your own internal logic, against everything anyone or any publication makes or prints. Thus, your friend isn't a liberal.

Here is an example:
http://www.portvapes.co.uk/?id=Latest-exam-1Z0-876-Dumps&exid=thread...rous-nations-for-women.2549667/#post-39476471

This is an obvious liberal biased "study" and I didn't take it at face value, even if it was from "my side" because some of it didn't follow logic.

Meanwhile, this is you:
http://www.portvapes.co.uk/?id=Latest-exam-1Z0-876-Dumps&exid=thread...ations-for-women.2549667/page-2#post-39477045

Nothing you say can ever be taken at face value on the internet because you are most assuredly lying. That is what you do, so even though you claim that "You then painted a caricature of me, which is so off the mark that it wasn’t even funny." It's going to hold up for a lot of people because it's logic applied to your posts. Perhaps you don't live in a red state, but you are absolutely a religious person that doesn't apply said's religious teachings to the modern age. Fact.

Just like some of the things you would probably say about me would be true, if you were smart enough to apply logic to my philosophy. But alas, you'll never be able to prove your case in the court of public opinion that is anantech. Because nobody will ever believe anything you say. Perhaps you will feel more at home on reddit where there are plenty of havens for your kind

That's true, there's just a shitload of tiny little liberal stratopimples full of pus and animus.

They do not lead as Trump does. "Fuck your feelings" hasn't gone away, has it?

The only reason to vote for Trump was to send a giant fuck you to the rest of us & the world.

No, the reason I voted for President Trump was because his opponent was Hillary Clinton. He was not my choice in the primary.

Except all of the things you listed were either issues under Obama or he exacerbated them, especially the "screw the little guy agenda". Trump is a response to Obama's failures and globalist buddies. You should've known that when Obama was president in 2008 and filled most of his cabinet with Citibank lobbyists that we were in trouble. Of course hindsight is always 20/20 and we didn't know that at the time (thanks wikileaks).

The reason I voted was b/c something had to be done with the globalist, sjw, pc-police, socialist path we were headed down. One that shit on the little guy in the name of profits for public companies like Harley Davidson who have decided that paying americans while their execs make less is not an option. We needed a molotov cocktail thrown at the Beltway elites and Trump was and still is a viable option. Both parties alike despise him which should tell you something if you despise Congress like I do.

We can, if we know each and every thing that has happened since the creation of universe. Because that is where the causal chain of every thing leads to. So in reality we can’t.
Nope.. As you partake in creation everytime that thought enters your mind you change the timeline.. also it would require a computer the size of the universe or bigger to keep track of all that entropy.. While the universe is the biggest turing complete computational device known to man(let that sink in).. think about the cpu grunts it takes to emulate say a ps2..
Anyway, schrodingers cat went there, Werner Heisenberg went there... if you aint measuring it its first rule of fight club.. you dont talk about it.

He's funny. Trump ain't doing shit for the little guy, and his default republican playbook moves just handed piles of money to corporations that run this country.
