Media seems to be the only ones that care about the royal wedding

Anyone notice this? Nobody I've talked to can stand seeing the constant coverage over this thing, yet the media acts like it's the most important story in the last 40 years. I could care LESS what dress Kate is wearing today, if she brought feathered hats back into style, if she lived in a brick house as a kid...WTF cares???!!!!

You can't help but know- I keep CNN on in the background for noise and it's being imprinted in my brain. They had a freakin' hour segment on how her shoes were going to be made.

There is actually a "Kate" magazine now. I just saw it while grabbing waffles at the grocery store. The only reason I noticed was because I heard some pre-teen chick yelling "I want a Bieber magazine!" and I looked over to see what fail looked like. Then I saw the Kate magazine and realized that our whole society has failed and we need to go back to gathering twigs and berries.

I'm interested.

One, because of the Charlie-Sheenness of the over-the-top media circus. It's fun to watch the crazy media wackiness. They always overhype crap like this (or Charlie Sheen, or Paris Hilton etc) while misunderstanding significant things like wars, disasters, etc

Two, because I'm interested in the history of the whole shebang. Lots of interesting history angles in this thing.

Three, it's an amazing business story. I don't give dick about shoes either but it will have a huge effect on teh shoe industry, the dress industry, the fifth-from-the-end-groomsman's cuff links industry - it's fascinating how powerful this stuff is.

Four, it makes me ponder about how much impact these two people are having on the world right how, in their own way. The only way anybody would care much about anything I do is if I were to take a shotgun and let loose on a group of people or something like that (not planning to!). But either of these two sneezes and a lot of things would seriously happen. (sucks to be them) What a crazy world we live in.

Five, paying attention to this is successfully distracting me from working on my taxes, which I haven't started yet.

The costume incident wouldn't mean anything if it were the only thing.
However, Prince William goes around giving speeches that are not reported in the media, nor do almost any of the attendees speak about. It's a British tradition thing. Some people have come forth and leaked Williams speeches and he is pretty far right wing. In fact, his little talks are described as "shockingly" fascist. I have been following this for awhile now.

I am guessing the costume incident was related to his political views.

And like you say, apparently fascist lovers run in the royal family.
