That's a pretty kitty. I like the dark grey coat. That's not something I often see.

Last night we were watching television with the window open and this little Siamese kitten came up there and introduced herself through the screen.
View attachment 87103We think there's a secret sign out in front of our house telling all stray pets that we are a stop on the underground pet railroad. We were able to rehome her in record time and she is at a new family already.
Now all we have to do is find that pesky sign!
You, Ironwing and MtnMan are good people. I think we need to GoFund a new permanent sign with lights so all the strays can see it.

Peanut is fully integrated now. He has his foibles. He will not go outside with me willingly. I even had a pocket of kibble. He wants to stay an indoor dog and I can imagine that he has been tossed out, kicked out, put out of the house his whole life. I can carry him out or coax him but as soon as I turn around he is back to the momma.
He adores the old man but no more humping at all.

Peanut
The more people I meet, the more I like my dog.

But yes, he has a lot of personality, and learned he is free to express it. It was sad that for a long time he would flinch if I reached out to pet him. Took a long time for him to learn to completely trust even those that feed and cared for him. Today on walks he greets people without much reserve, though he still prefers "his kind", i.e. other dogs.

He plays every evening with his favorite toy (we load it with treats, and when he bats it around they fall out), probably his first toy, other than a stick. We tried different toys, until my wife found this, and he loves it. It is quite rewarding to see this old hound get real joy out of playing with it every evening. Wife loads it up after dinner while I walk him, and he comes loping across the room to attack it.
Our little Tina carries all the toys outside. Then she comes back inside with a stick and eats it.

I love a story with a happy ending. Peanut do a not know it, but he won the dog lottery. I know when we were fostering dogs we always thought the dogs knew that we were trying to help them and they knew it. Peanut is going to llooovvvee you guys.

oh yeah, just like he loved the ink pen and some foster grant readers this morning. The lad needs a serious morning chew like a smoker needs that first cigarette. FUCK!
He needs something of his own to destroy.
EDIT: Now I know why he was tossed out of the house so much in his previous life!

I know your pain. My wife got herself some $500 prescription glasses. I think it was Sally that chewed them up.

We had some foster puppies that for some reason started to eat the wall. Almost ate all their way through the drywall.

Then there was the time I made done breaded chicken for dinner and left it on the counter while I waited for my ride to come home. The dogs ate half the cooked chicken. I yelled at them and went back to watching TV. The bastards went back and ate the other half. If you notice the first picture we now only have little dogs that cannot reach the counter.

I got some plastic fence and split it to make 1' tall fence for my blind dog. We have a big fenced yard for the dogs, and she does really well navigating most of the time.
Every once in a while we will wonder where she is, and she will be way down at the other end all frantic and walking in a tight circle. it has to be frightening for her.
I made a small space so she does not get lost and also easier for me to clean up the poops.
Cricket the silken was hilarious. She was on the other side of it, and she can step right over it but oh no. She was all freaked out, came up to it, backed off, danced all over. I had to lead her around the end of it.
David thinks we can contain her with a piece of string.

I'm a cat and lizard person.
The 15yo OG's, Tucker (Maine c00n) and Bailey (black shorthair in the back) along with our newest ditch kitten sisters, Myrtle and Freya.

The 18mo ditch kitten brothers, Leyland...

... And Hudson...

Finally our older boys, 7yo's Marshall...

... And Matthew, the fucking gladiator. He'd take a raccoon to the mat if we let him.

And last but not least, one of our younger lizards as well as a newborn, a few weeks ago. We have 5 total.

We’ve had the same sign somewhere around everywhere we’ve lived the last couple decades. Darned hard to locate it, tho. Have never found ours…you’ll probably not have any better luck. 🤪

Four of the five kittens that landed in our living room have been adopted. We’re still looking for a home for this guy. I thought he’d be the first out the door. He’s super friendly and adventurous.

What a cool color gray and good looking kitten that is. I would have adopted him Gray is like one of my favorite colors. Friendly and adventurous sounds right

My sister had about 10 cats dumped near her farm and took care of all of their needs that way.
Twice today, Peanut tried to engage Katie in play. He's not all that savvy on the blind thing.
It works better when I get a toy between them, she'll play tug of war with him for a few moments.
