some cd are rated at 16x but my burner but it faster than that. I have smart burn. The sony cdr i have is rated at 40x but burner only burn at 32

I again printed the ad but this time headed to a different Office Max in the area.
The total was just over $213 then I showed the cashier the AD and she wanted to take off just $30, I said nope thats for each. She called over her sales manager who promptly shat his pants after looking at the ad. He tried to say it was just for the website but I pointed to the top where it said "In Store Special" and the store location.
We stood around for literally a couple minutes in silence while he scrutinized every bit of that ad. He finally relented - Yea!

After I got them, I wondered if I could have PM them to another store like Staples or Office Depot and saved even more?
Maybe found a store that had a rebate?

Tried to pick up a spindle today using the early bird printable flyer. Manager refused to sell it to me saying that there MUST be some sort of rebate involved, that he knew nothing about the sale and that he couldn't sell it for $10. Is OM THAT disorganized that the Managers of the stores don't have a clue as to what sales will be happening the next day?!? Of course, Sunday is Easter Sunday so OfficeMax is closed and Monday I have to be back at my office which is 120 miles away from my home/local OM. How lame.

I went by my Virginia Beach OM with printed copy of the ad in-hand. Good thing too, since the cashier was dumbfounded and claimed that the ad was for next week. She took it up w/ the manager since the CD-Rs that they had (48X) rang up at the regular $39.99. A few minutes later the manager marked it down for me and i went home quite happy

This is even better than that Sears 50pk 16X HP CD-R clearance ($4.97) a few months back.

I had to show them the printout of the ad, because the cdrs rang up at 39.99. Luckily the manager was nice and came over and entered in the new price for me at 9.99.

At first, when I show the print out to the cashier, and I told her it's from the web, She saids "We don't price match internet prices". I then told her it's from your own website. She walks to the manager's office, it took her 5 min of talking to come back, telling me I can only get 1. I feel like they are doing me a big favor by even selling me 1, a deal on their own website. They got 30 of those of the shelves, but OM is such a cheap bastard. Why bother putting on web special, it's like their own stores hate web specials.

The best deal I got today was two 100 packs for $14.02 with tax, at a staples where I pmed and got a 115% or so guarantee, their price was like $45 so I got them for like $6.50 each, lol... Let's start a tower competition

I believe this deal is kind of YMMV. The officemax I went to didn't know about it and they didn't believe me either. The print out I had wasn't too clear as I printed it from school, so it took them 15 minutes to verify it and on top of that the manager didn't want to give me more than one, I told him it didn't say one per customer and finally he gave them to me cause I only wanted 2. TOO much hassle, especially for getting it from the ppl who have the sale, but it's hard to find cdr's without rebates.

I ordered 2 for instore pick up at CC and printed out the OM flier and drove there to pick them up. The guy looked at it and of course went to get a manager. The manager said it's after rebate so we can't. I told him to look carefully and see that there is no mention of a rebate and the guy looked it over again and said "ok we'll do it then".

The guy rang it up and subtracted the purchase and then re-rang it up at $9.99 each, and then I said, "umm sorry, but you need to give me 10% of the difference which is of course $3.00 so I should be paying $6.99 each. He realized the mistake and credited me an additional $6.46.

SO, I got 2 packs of 100 40x memorex CDR's for $15.02 including tax!

I bought two 100pks from my BP, CA OM. They had like 40+ pks left on the shelves. Manager lowerd the price without a problem. Bring the ad though. Here's the ad for you

Does it really matter much if they are made in Taiwan? Do they even make Japanese Memorex CDRs?

Yeah, you can do this but your BLER errors will go way up. So tinier scratches are more likely to ruin your disc. I've verified this with various speed-rated blanks on my Lite-On 52246S.

OMIGOD.. I don't need another cdr. I have so many right now with all the free after rebate deals that I don't know what to do with. It's hard to pay anything for cdr's any more.

Definately a hot deal! But make sure to take the printout with you!!

So I go to check out, and of course the cashier had to get one of the managers over there to change the price, but without proof of the discount, he said to come back with the printout.

So go home and print out the ad, go do some other errands, and then come back to the same store (where they put my 3 spindles on hold behind the register), and show them the printout (with URL clearly on the page). They call the manager to do the price adjustment, and while he slowly puts in his key and turns it, he's looking intently at the printout for a possible "quantity limit." Since he didn't find one, he made sure to ask if there were plenty left on the shelf, and if these were the only ones I was planning to get, so I tell him yes. He changes the price, and it totals in around $30+ tax.

As the manager was walking away, the cashier said to him "gimme that....I want to get some!" Too bad he's going to be paying the same price, as OM employees don't get discounts!!

I plan to raid a few more local stores before the deal ends this Saturday!
