What program are you using to get that info?

That program is the Smartburn Utility that you can get from Liteon, it only works for Liteon drives. There is also CDRidentifier that works with anydrive that will display the ATIP.

I can confirm that the $1.99 price is good at local Best Buy stores. I went over lunch and picked up a few packs. There was no indication on the shelf that the item was discounted. I think it was marked at $15 or so. When I had the guy at the computer help counter check the price for me he did a double take and then said "wow! $1.99! great price!".

I just picked up 3 from the Attleboro,MA store right before a couple went to the shelf with an employee and picked up at least 10. They then asked the employee to see if there were more in the back! He got all excited because the price on them was 17.99.

Just did a disc ID on one of the discs that came in one of my packs (24x labeled; I got some labeled 24x, some 48x; this was a 24x pack). It's identified as Ritek by Nero's info program.

How are they getting those cool colors for the data side, anyway? Is there a dye in the laminate? That would seem to be potentially problematic--might interfere with reading the data. But I guess they've done their homework and picked a dye that is invisible to the laser...?
