This Hi-Tech cdr mail in rebate is by far the sketchiest rebate i have ever seen
got the 50pack (free after mir) from staples last friday

Guys:

Consider the scanner resolution before you purchase. If it does not have high specs you are probably better off skipping it.

Also consider the probability of your getting the rebate from Hi Tech before you purchase.

Even though I have gotten most of my rebates this year. I find that I have to persistent with some companies.

Just my 2 cents.

OK, I'll add my 2 cents also.

This scanner blows. The resolution does not matter. The scans are horrible, washed out colors. I have 3 scanners. My HP 5P rocks. The Vantas 3000 I got for $13 scans nice and sharp but has washed out/ dark colors. This Memorex 6142u is even worse, not sharp, horrible colors. If you want to scan photos with this thing you will be dissapointed. The first photo I scanned with it made me gag. If you just want a cheap b & w photo copier it will do fine.

I'm also very unsatisfied with its quanlity. When you buy it you can tell everyone you have a scanner now, but don't expect anything else from it. I sure you won't like to use it to scan your photos.
