Memorex DVD+R or DVD-R, $1 per disc (+ tax)...

Bestbuy: 50pc spindles, $50 after instant rebate
Staples: 10 pc with jewel case, $10 after instant rebate
Compusa: 25 pc spindles, $25 after instant rebate (50% savings)

B&M: come in, walk out.
Online purchases: All three are available online (as of sunday morning), though staples requires some weird coupon things.

Staples is a good deal to test DVD+R and DVD-R media. Test and then buy bulk from compusa or bestbuy.

HOT if ricooh
WARM if CMC

I haven't had a coaster yet with the last batch of Memorex DVD-R's that I bought. I'd been waiting for another special to go buy more.

How are the memorex compared to the Philps 2.4x ones? Other than the speed of course.

Memorex +r spindles that have a gray bottom are good. Avoid the black spindles. I hear people have had problems with Memorex -r though.

This is a REALLY Kick-A** Great Deal - The Memorex 10-Pack
(Jewel cases included - none of those 'thin' cases !) of +R DVD's
for less than $10 and no rebates involved !

I talked my Staples favorite store into selling me 10 packs of these
Memorex's Saturday afternoon (today) at tomorrow's price ... and
of course, as soon as I got home, I had to open a pack and check
out the particulars of what Memorex had decided to provide me with.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the typical purple-ish color of Ricoh
that we know Memorex does receive - Then using DVDInfoPro,
I was able to confirm that they are indeed Rocoh's.

I do also buy GENUINE Ritek G04 -R's. But rest assured, when I can
get Ricoh +R Memorex's for a $1 a piece, let alone getting the jewel
case as well, well, I consider that a Blue-Ribbon Day !

I have NEVER had a coaster in over 100 burns using Memorex +R's,
with my Lite-On 411S, using Nero Ultra and DVD Shrink (all "3" versions)
<as well as DVD XCopy Platinum - which is basically crap by the way ! -
especially when compared to the excellent alternatives available !>.

So I hope a bunch of y'all jump on these Memorex's as they get my TOTAL
NOD for a QUALITY - TOP NOTCH product - as long as they are the Ricoh's.

Always my Best,

Mikey in Atlanta

My brother has the 8X Plextor, and he tells me that the 4x Memorex burn at 8x in that machine,as for the other question of quality,i have a first generation Sony (DRU-500A,2.0f),and they burn consistently at 4x. I got the Staples deal at 10 for $10,so I snatched the last 5 boxes...... A look at the disc thru DVD Decrypter
shows that they are :CMC MAG .AF1....

Picked up 2x25s at CUSA. Great deal. Good idea about getting 10 at Staples first to test compatibility. Has anyone verified if the 25x spindles are Ricohs too?

I bought both DVD+R and DVD-R. DVD-R 4x are CMC MAG AF1. DVD+R 4x are RICOHJPN R01 (Grey Spindle). This is the exact same media that TDK uses for 4x DVD+R. I paid $120 for 100 pack of TDK @ BB. I wish I had known this.....

The CMC MAG AF1 burn fine in my Optorite DD0203 Firmware Rev. 2.30. They also play in my DVD player just fine. I like DVD+R better, but its just personal preference.

Spidey, how is the video playback burning 4x media at 8x? I've heard stories that this sometime results in jittery video and/or pauses.
