Yeah, I hear ya. I need to know, though. I can actually have these put aside until then, so validation from soneone in "the know" would be helpful.

Read the thread again. Buy it on the 5th at $119 ($99 + tax with $20 off $100) and price adjust on July 19th. This was mentioned by a Office Depot employee to a AT member that it will "probably" go down to $79 on July 18th. With the Office Depot 14-day pricematch policy, July 5th is the date you can buy it for price adjustment. As always finding it still available on the 5th will be the problem. Good Luck.

Edit: the store I'm going to purchase them from is far away, can I pricematch later at another offie depot store?

One near me never has the correct prices if it's on clearance. Have to ask, they'll give me a look like "WTF am I doing this, the price is right there in front of you!" then they'll come back and tell me that the price is cheaper than what the tag shows.

I think they hate me by now, I go last least once every other day.

lol my staples doesn't like me too much

A couple days ago I snagged 2 of the memorex drives for $80 and 1 I/O Magic USB2.0 External DVD+RW (2.4x) drive (same specs as memorex, but external) for $100.

They had to priceadjust at register to the sign, was a managers special.

Was a PITA updating the firmware on the I/O Magic to v1.51 but it's there. Other than the firmware setup was a breeze in XP.

So, keep your eyes pealed on that one too, might get lucky. Oh, and I used no coupons.

damn I need a memorex dvd+rw drive I wanna get one instead of a hard drive.
I can burn my episodes onto disc and store them.

Running out of HDD space = suck.

But once you get closer to DC no car is necessary, Metro si the way to go.

i'll send you several booklets of coupons so you can keep em for the future as well..

the have like 2x 15 off 75 etc.. and coupons for other places.

I wonder if i can stick that into my firewire maxtor enclosure. I'll need to mod it in some way tho.

I picked one up in Austin, TX yesterday. They had two left in the display case after I bought mine.

The OD store #403; zip code 78759.

I updated the firmware to latest version, but I still had a few minor problems transferring files from a 4x disk.

Overall speed: It took about 25 minutes to burn a full dvd worth of data (4.7gb).

I was not thrilled with the 2.4x write speed, so I ordered a 4x Cendyne burner from Staples.
For a few bucks more, I'm getting more burning speed and saving time in the process.

Good thing OD has a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

There was only one Memorex in the store.

Just a follow-up, I checked back at the store I purchased my others at and they were out of stock. They still had one I/O Magic 2.4x DVD+R internal but it was at $159 or so, much more than the external I bought. I'm 99.9% sure it's the same ricoh drive as the Memorex so if it drops down and I see it next week I'll post back here.
