playing around with what i can get for my budget and atm planning for a 3700+ san diago, but what ram? not really intending on massive overclocking, I expect I'd be pretty happy with say 220-230 fsb and decent timings with a relatively quiet cpu fan.
good example of what I'm deciding on is between:
1x1gb stick of ballistix PC4000 at 3-4-4-8 (plus is high fsb available, single slot)
2x512mb sticks of ballistix PC4000 at 3-4-4-8 (plus is high fsb available, dual channel)
2x512mb sticks of ballistix PC3200 at 2-2-2-6 (plus is good timings, dual channel)
Not fixed on Crucial ram, just the above is a good example I could check easily, plus over here (UK) crucial seem to have a smaller price hike than brands (compared to US prices).
Looking like I'll be getting a cheap Asus A8V via board as an interim solution, later to get with a Asus or Abit (possibly a DFI lanparty) board when i swap video to PCIe.
(I assume this is the right forum, since the main affecting factor is the cpu and it's with overclock in mind)
