Memory for Intel NUC

I plan to equip my new Haswell i5 NUC with 16GB RAM. How does this stick to look to you guys?

How is Patriot's quality control compared to the big players?

Also, the insert inside the box says the unit requires "DDR3L (1.35 V low voltage DDR3)" memory. The memory above is not designated as DDR3L, but it is 1.35V. Is DDR3L an official designation or can I grab anything that's 1.35V?

Patriot is one of the big players.

DDR3L is just the official spec for 1.25v and 1.35v RAM. If it's 1.35v DDR3 it should be fine.

Just don't use 1.5V memory, use 1.35V only. We use a lot of Kingston memory here, and have mostly used Kingston value or HyperX on our NUC builds. This is right here is perfect:

You can look up tested memory for your particular Intel system. It may not make any difference, but it certainly can't hurt to use memory modules that have already been tested on your motherboard.

Thanks, that's helpful. Ironic that it's considered a desktop board since it takes notebook RAM.

Should I be alerted that the memory I ordered was only tested in a 8GB configuration since I ordered 8GB x 2? In fact, it's a little odd that only two models were tested in 8GB x 2: one Crucial-Ballistix and one Samsung stick.
