Memory for overclocking an E6600 on a 680i motherboard?

I'm looking for some guidance on what ram to get for a build I'm doing in February. I plan on getting a C2D E6600 CPU, 680i motherboard, 8800gtx vid card, a nice CPU cooler, and would like to overclock it. I haven't overclocked a system for about 6 years and all the memory stuff confuses me. Can some kind soul explain to me the following:

[*]What does the asynchronous timing capability of the 680i mobo do for me?

[*]At what point does making your timings worse to increase FSB defeat the purpose of increasing performance?

[*]What ram do you think I should get for the above system and what should my goals be for overclocking it?

Hi there... I am also looking to build a system. I just sold my old S754 rig and now i only have my laptop....

I am building a E6600 on a Evga 680i motherboard with a Scythe Inf cooler...
Will the Ballistix BL2KIT12864AA804 on sale for $245 be enough for me to overclock to around 3.2-3.4ghz? (running 24/7) maybe 3.6ghz?
The Team Extreme TXDD2048M800HC4DC for $305 looks like its a for sure deal for overclocking... but then again i would not be posting here if i was so sure =(

I am hoping all 5 of these RAM are Micron ICs wether D9GMH or D9GKX...

Any input would really help..... and thanks in advance =)

I am sorry Wino... you have my most humble and sincere apology ... I did not mean to hijack your thread.... =(

Since overclocking ram might be an option for your setup i just thought that i could share with you the top 5 kits that still might have MICRON D9 ICs....

would anybody know if it is worth spending a bit more on purchasing kits that have D9GKX ? seeing that most D9GMH are around $300
