Been having issues with the computer lately, some video issues, some random crashes and i'm attempting to weed out everything.
I ran the standard memtest86 over night, came back no errors. I decided to play with settings on the test itself.
I configured it, and switched the setting from Bios-STD to Bios-all.
First, what is this setting? I've been unable to find anyplace that will explain which is what and what each does.
Second.
When I hit that continue button after choosing the Bios-all setting I get all sorts of red on my screen.
Such as:
test: 0, pass: 0, Failing Address: ooofoooooo-3840, :good ffffffff, Bad 29c08086, Err bib (or bit): 0020000 Count Channel: 1682-1690.
So, Does this mean an error was found? (well errors) or is this a setting that is not needed and means nothing at all?

It never fails as soon as you post you find some form of an answer. I just read a nifty little blog (but I dont know how much I trust people who frequent blogs) That says this is a normal reaction to the memtest when set to the bios-all setting.
Anyone else know if this is true and can confirm this thought?
As well, what are the best settings to run memtest at? should ECC checking be on?
any other suggestions? thanks!
