Memory problem with P3V4X

Hi. Just wonder about the memroy bandwith problem
with the Asus P3V4X board? Is this an Asus's problem or VIA's problem? Wonder if a new BIOS or VIA chipset update file will be able to fix it.

Its a via problem. All the via 133a boards have slower bandwith than most bxboards that I know of. It doesn't make a 133a a bad chip though.

you need to enable 4 way interleaving it helps somewhere around (300 to 500 scores ) get a 60-80 increase is what ive seen i got the program the other day and games are much smoother goto h-oda site and get the credit program and then try it it only changes temporary then get the other program to set it permenant so i couldnt remember the names im at work right now

The memory bandwidth issue isn't that big 'o deal. If it was, nobody would have bought a via 133A. The scores are less than an OCed BX board which bothers a lot of people. But in real world gaming it's hard to see the difference.

Now you've got i815e coming out. This chipset has good memory performance (at least as good as via's) but still not equal to BX. I dunno, if I were to buy now I'd hold off for Asus's 815e board and see how that compares to the p3v4x..

all im saying is that you can increase you memory bandwidth by this fix. it helps my game intros went from slow choppy to smooth ,i havent had time too benchmark it myself but ive seen as much as a 100 better on some benchmarks of before and after
