Question Memory refuses to do 1T on X570/3900x - but does it matter?

The memory is 2x8GB of Patriot Viper 4400 C19 @ 3600 15-15-15-39 1.36v. Auto Command Rate defaults to 2T, and if I set it to 1T it fails to POST despite voltage increases and hilarious loosening of timings (18-18-18-600trfc @ 1.45v can't do 1T.)

Is there setting or subtiming that directly affects CR? Is it even necessary to run it at 1T?

Doesn't the infinity fabric need to run at 2200MHz to get a 1T timing on 4400 RAM? It has been a while since I've dealt with higher speed RAM though, so I'm probably wrong.

However I did hear that it is important to have a 1 to 1 ratio on Ryzen, or you have some pretty heavy performance drops. The more recent chips seem to be able to get 1800-1900 on the infinity fabric from what I hear, leaving you can run it at 3600-3800 pretty easily.

If I find the source where I heard that, I'll post it so you can determine if it applies to your setup. This is mostly third hand knowledge, where I was interested in the subject, but I don't have great memory so I'm not real confident I remember correctly. I just wanted to reply since no one else had given you an answer.

I'm running the memory at 3600 with 1800 FCLK for 1:1. I mentioned the default XMP setting of 4400 just in case the information would be helpful with troubleshooting.

Playing with the cad bus drive strengths can apparently help with this. Auto is 24-24-24-24 so maybe try 40-20-24-24.
