Memory to A7N8X

Hey there! Im new with this things and i could use some help!
Im buying a Asus A7N8X and an Athlon XP 2400 (or 2200, still dont know) they both are fsb's @ 266 mhz, is it worth to buy DDR PC3200? Or should i buy DDR 2700?
Im planing to keep this mb for a long time, and ill probabily upgrade the processor someday, so... what do u think?

2700 is even overkill, but check the post I left in your post in tech support. You should get the 2400+ and change it to 13.5X166 and have a 2800+. Then the 2700 will be worth it.

I always try and think long(er) term - buy PC3200 instead of PC2100. Just because you don't overclock now doesn't mean you won't latter down the road. Also, look for the lowest CAS values you can find: 2-2-2 is nice.

KingofFah, I have that setup. I was wondering...Can I change my settings to 13.5X166 without PHYSICALLY unlocking my CPU?

I got two sticks of PC3200 DDR400 XMS Corsair CL2 RAM. Whew, say that 10 times fast...

But anyhow it'll last you a lot longer even if it is overkill right now.

I'd say go with the PC3200. Even if you don't use it now, you'll be happy when you don't have to buy new RAM with your next processor.

Ive been reading some reviews and looks like the Dual DDR doesnt gives suck a boost in performance as it should give because its wastes bandwith.
So i thought that now i could buy only ONE 512 mb memory (and i wouldn take advantage of the dual ddr) and later buy another 512 memory.
What do u think of this instead of buying 2 x 256 ?
I would be losing some performance now, but when i upgraded my computer would be happy to have 1 gb of dual ddr!
