I talked to a cop in Memphis a little while back. He said they have the same number of cops now that they did in the 80's. That is how screwed up their budget is!

We spend $250 million for a new arena to attract an NBA team, and for some reason the city is in the black, plus raise city property taxes every chance they get to pay for budget downfalls, such already suffering school system (see CA article from last year on our sh*tty school system).

So remind me WHY I live here besides a relatively LOW cost of living compared to the rest of the nation?? Luckily I live outside the city limits in a decent part of the county... for now
