Generally if memory is failing it'll be pretty obvious, I've never had to let memtest complete more than 1 pass before it counted errors. But then I've had very few experiences with bad memory.

Your memory can be fine but you still get memory errors if your overclocking your system. Even running your ram at stock speeds but with an unstable OC'ed CPU, you will get memtest errors. Better to let it run several passes (5+) as the CPU heats up with each pass it can create errors that are not apparant until the 4-5-6-99 pass.
