Ok, I really am on the verge of blowing my computer away in my next handgun class. Thanks to the fact that I have more than one computer in my house, I can post a message and beg mercifully at the feet of the almighty computer tech's. PLLLLLLLLEEEEEEAAAAAAASSSSSSEEEEEE help me. Here is my issue:
I turned my computer on earlier today, and right away it went into backing up my registry. Then I had to restart. I thought it to be very odd, when it finally booted up, I went to log on to the internet the same way I always do, through my messengers. I am on dialup networking (no picking on me for not having dsl). My messengers wouldn't connect. So I decided to try clicking on IE, to open my home page. WOW that created a big mess. My IE was reading Page Cannot Be Displayed, and looping though several unknown to me servers. Then when it was not satisfied, pages started to pop up doing the same exact thing. Looping through servers I didn't recognize. Thinking quickly I did a ping test. The ip went through just fine, but the URL kept reading unknown server. So I went and removed/reinstalled Dialup Networking, TCP/IP, and Dialup Adapters. None of that worked, I still have the same problem, connecting to the internet, but no pages, and no messenger contact, I can't connect to a single server. Does anyone Have a clue?
