Yeah, inquiring minds want to know.

Edit: nevermind, looks like you can just leave it blank as long as you use Friend/Family as your Source.

They email you the reservation number, and don't know what happen to Chicago I went to this drve thingy for the last two years and it is great. Last year they only let us drive the new E class. Pretty fun for flooring the E430 from 0 to 80 and than hard break to test their new ABS lol........ The one I went to two years ago is the best they had profosser driver with AMG Bens (AMG 55, E55 etc.....) running on the race tracks. They drive faster than the roller coster you can fell the G-force on the car. Average Roller coster (I think) go around 80 mph, and they were driving like 130 and 140 on the track.....man that was fun. Too bad they don't had one for Chicago, I called them up and they said they had cancel the Chicago event. oh welll

See you all in DC on July 12!

The above link doesn't seem to work, I had to go to the MBUSA.com site and click on C-class to get to registration. For those of you interested, I would recommend getting a slightly used E-class rather than these cars. But to tear these up in a test drive will suffice!

Agreed
The E class rules. I once beat a Mitsubishi Revolution VII with a stock 1999 Model E320. This wasn't in the US of course.

i guess, but some of us (myself included) aren't going to buy a benz and want to just tear one up on a track

I assume you're about the Mistubishi Evo 7? Cause if so, theres no chance in hell that person was actually racing. E320 0-60 is 7.5ish, Evos would have been somewhere in the low 5 second range.

I also assume that guy is a new driver, because he crashed his car (at his own fault) on a bend and I sped away

I signed up w/o ref code, so I hope they don't get flooded with registrations and cancel me out.

For now, my sportbike will have to fulfill my performance crave, but it would be sweet if I could affort e55.

Thanks, I got signed up for the one in SF. Should be great -- as long as I can manage to not schedule anything that same day in August.

I'll be in Phoenix for the 9/20 event. After not having one of the Mazda rev-it-up events here, this should make up for it.

How is everyone going to have enough time to drive a car? Are there going to be crazy lines?

I actually got this in the mail, and there was a lanyard with a 4x6" piece of paper on the end sort of a "VIP" kinda thing, are they gonna check for this when people show up? Just something to think about...

Just attended the DC area C-spot party. Pretty sweet setup they had at Fedex field. Had the opportunity to meet fellow anandtecher yhippa. We both had fun destroying the alignment on their C-class cars and knocking over cones. They had some AMG cars out there but their drivers took you around in them at 60-80 mph. You could only drive the other cars maybe 40-50 mph. They gave a goodie bag at the end which had a slick hat inside and two golf balls and a mini-cutting board. They had massage chairs, internet refrigerators, plasma screens with video games and jazz music in the tent. Not bad for a first time c-spot attendee. Take your friends along, the more the merrier!!!

As far as cars go, the C-class is pretty lame. When you have to pay between $28-38k to get a decent car you could go with the other luxury makes and get more for less. I drive an E320 and am proud to say I bought it used; if you can find a used car under a middle-aged/elderly owner then it is worth looking into. Repairs are expensive nonetheless... (in summary - go after a used E rather than a new C!)

just my 2 cents...

Just posting a reply cuz I thought the coincidence was too great:

I live in the Chicagoland area and have a really cushy job in which my boss lets me drive his benz all the time. It normally is an 2003 S430 which is sweet as hell in terms of luxury and pretty nice in terms of acceleration, but only so-so in handling (its a sedan that weighs 4,100 lbs for god sakes) but still 0-60 in 6.9s. Well the other day, he knocked off his side view mirror accidentally, so while its being repaired, they lent him a 2003 CLK430 Cabriolet. He has to return it tommorrow.

Basically:I had a CLK430 Carbiolet (thats the convertible for those who don't know) to tear up on the streets tonight will no ill-after affects. And let me tell you, it is one fun ride. The specs claim it as well only does 0-60 in 6.9s, but I'd be hard pressed to believe that. The handling was sure a lot better though than the S430. I took some fun turns, and did a little drifting in it. All in all, it was fun as hell.

Just my 2 cents for the moment.
