WTF? You enjoy paying more? So, like the OP says, if you have an option to get the same card for either $279 or $291, you will pay $12 more?

I have been a loyal customer of Newegg as well, but I am sick of them changing prices so often and "funky" shipping charges like the OP said. $4 to ship a 3.5 drive that costs $7? Please.

I'll pay more with newegg every time because the amount is always trivial, and their service is excellent.
As far as "$6." goes, you do realize they have to pay someone to pack it along with the shipping costs, correct? As often as newegg has a "funky" shipping charge, they have a "free FedEx Saver" option.

You guys are making mountains out of molehills.

$6 dollars for 2 day shipping on a package, GEEZE what a ripoff... Anyways, since your looking at a 6800 I would recommend buying this one http://shop4.outpost.com/produ...sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG outpost is a reputable company and the BFG is probably the best version you can get.

2 days MY FOOT, it takes them 5 days to get stuff to me, and I live on the east coast, where they have a warehouse I believe... I'm just getting upset because why shoud you have to "settle" for good shipping, when it ALL used to be free? BTW, I really like that price for the BFG, can you give me your experiences with outpost.com? And can I be sure that the card I see there, will be the card I get? I don't want the one with 2 fans on it, i'm a bit weary of buzzing whining fan noise.

Outpost.com shipped FFXI to me all the way in England within a week I believe it was.

Damn straight

Besides they have to charge shipping somewhere. The big stuff is generally cheap or free and they make it up on the little stuff. Fedex doesn't ship out of charity

A good point was brought up in this thread, the fact that It takes the egg 5 days to get something to me, could be attributed to FEDEX, not newegg.

I would advise anyone questioning NewEgg's delivery charges go to FedEx and see how much it takes you to ship a Matchbox FedEx Saver. I live East Coast also(NH) and normally get my orders in 2-3 business days. Their prices tend to be within a few dollars of the cheapest on PriceWatch most of the time and their service is significantly better. I'd pay a premium far larger then what is being discussed here to make certain I was getting NewEgg quality service, luckily I don't have to. The only time I buy any hardware online not from them is if they don't carry it(that includes my own, all of my repair parts for other people's systems and builds for other people).

Newegg is definitely going downhill IMO.

The first time I bought from them was 1 year ago - a 5900XT. Couldn't get it to install so I RMA'd it, and got a second one (but they didn't put the free CoD in the second one like they did on the first).

I ended up with some old Leadtek driver/registry problems and had to format the HDD, so in the end the problem was my fault, but I was not impressed with Newegg messing up the RMA and screwing me out of a game.

However, I really like their selection and their site layout, so I do always check them for stuff. I just recently bought a case, DVDRW, and Card Reader from them, and they charged separate shipping on all three items, even though they shipped the DVDRW and card reader in the same box. That was kinda cheezy IMO.

Now I see them jacking up their processor prices 25-30%, and as mentioned above, selling a $4 dollar fan with $5 shipping.

What made them good IMO was the fact that they had a great selection (still have that), great prices (sometimes have that, but not so much anymore), a good shipping policy (definitely don't have that anymore), and good RMA (they didn't do a good job on my stuff, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on this and assume that my case was rare).

Given these factors, I no longer consider them as a first choice, and instead will look @ SVC (since I live in SJ I can will call items and pay no shipping), Outpost, Amazon, ZZF, Monarch, and probably newegg as a last resort.

In my experience, their greatness is overrated.

Lets not add to the mass hysteria shall we.
