I have a customer that I need to build a replacement system for. The old system is an AOpen barebones (Digital Engine DE45-HG). I found the requisite barebones kit on the Egg, but they have no Penryn socket P chips available. They have a Merom socket P chip, but I am not going to just assume that b/c it's the same socket that it'll work.
**SO**
The Question: Will a 65nm Merom chip run on an Intel GM45 Chipset based board, even though Intel technically states compatibility only with 45nm Core2 chips and a select group of 65nm Celeron chips.
