That's custard! You're not supposed to drink that! It goes on pudding! Eggnog is about 20% proof and it's supposed to be evens between dying of alcohol poisoning or indigestion if you drink too much!

Wow, your post threw me off in all kinds of ways...forgot about the language barrier, haha.

In America, drinking custard is just eggnog without nutmeg or cinnamon, but nobody uses it because eggnog tastes better (cinnamon + cloves + nutmeg + vanilla in addition to milk + heavy cream) & is a common holiday drink here. Hood Golden Eggnog is probably the best stuff you can buy in a box at the store. Arethusa Farm is probably the best non-alcoholic eggnog you can buy, although the recipe I posted above is about on-par with theirs (but Aerthusa has better dairy):

I had to look up what "custard on pudding" meant because in America pudding is like Jello chocolate pudding...pouring custard on pudding made no sense for a minute there lol. Google images says English pudding is like a sponge cake, which makes more sense. I've seen crème anglaise used as kind of a lava cake filling, so I guess I could see that working out.

How is cinammon stick considered weird?

Most people only buy powdered cinnamon & a lot of stores don't carry sticks. Also, very few people own microplaners/zesters/fine graters.

I did try doing the recipe with ground cinnamon (roasted to boot), but it just ended up tasting like horchata. Well, more like a thicker version of the leftover milk after you eat Cinnamon Toast Crunch. The recipe I linked to has very clear flavors...nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, vanilla. It's not overwhelming or complex; just very simple & in your face. I would say it's a 95% recipe...I don't know what the other 5% it needs is. Maybe allspice, I dunno. I haven't really delved into holiday spices all that much. It's a really, really good recipe (I've made it a half a dozen times in the past week for various get-togethers), but it just needs something extra, I'm not sure what.

Went for a Christmas Stroll tonight.

Almost all the houses turned off their lights. Yesterday it was like Clark Griswolds house all over town. Now its practically blackout time.

Many accidents. One happened by my 7-11 in the time it took me to go out and come back, less than 20 minutes. I was impressed.

All the mini marts were open. All the gas stations. Every drug store. Surprisingly, only one of the 500 Chinese restaurants in town. A couple fast food shitholes, and several Dunkin Donuts.

Traffic was so thick it felt almost like a normal weeknight. I guess Christmas just isnt as special these days. Or it could be these fucking Virginians.
