But it's all OK if some third world person in some foreign land works under those conditions so you can save some money by not paying an American under the very rules and regulations you wish to impose on domestic companies.

I'd LOVE to bu everything American. Ironic thing is, I can't afford to.

At least you acknowledge they are clowns for our amusement. Nobody told them to leave our television set or our theater. Then you get some uppity reality tv star like Donald Trump to teach you that you should never take advice from a celebrity.

Michael Jordan understood that. Probably the most recognizable figure in the world and he never had an opinion on US or world politics. I'd take another Michael Jordan over Sean Penn's investigative journalism any day of the week.

So what if no one told them to leave our television or theater? No one tells a lawyer or a businessman to leave their work and go try and affect politics or policy either yet we have no problem accepting them as credible messengers. Why are actors, musicians, etc, any different?

Excellent point -- if actors and "hollyweird" should shut up and stop telling us about politics, who SHOULD be allowed to tell us about politics? Who is acceptable?

Lawyers?
Businessmen?
Educators?
Firemen?
Policemen?
Athletes?
Garbagemen?

That's a marvelous interpretation of something I never said.

So will you help defend Donald Trump from all the "reality TV star" slurs from nearly every liberal on this forum? Maybe yourself included without checking your post history? Or is Donald's Trump experience as a businessman and outspoken character an acceptable basis from which he can build a career in politics?

he's the fucking president elect. what is deemed as a normal and/or acceptable path the white house is forever changed.
I'm sure his state of the union will be the best 140 characters, he only uses the best characters.
I sense some regret that he's won from a few of the drumpf fluffers around here.

That's not going to bode well for any of us. If he can't contain himself when it comes to someone such as an actor or actress, how can he be expected to make choices with thorough thought processes, sound judgement, and on behalf of a nation. Simple answer is: he can't. Sadly, this is our fate when a twitter troll is elected to office.
I'm not going to make sweeping judgments and predictions by extrapolating beyond what it is.

The difference is he's kinda "jumped" ahead in line from giving speeches at the Golden Globes to leader of the free world. He skipped a few steps and might just be in over his head.
Ironically, I was all for "Washington Outsiders" to step in and start running the show in D.C. But then Trump came along and I realized that maybe having some sort of civil service and governmental background on your resume is preferred (granted I still am not in favor of a career politician). So yeah, he could BUILD a career in politics but he just went straight to the top with no experience and thus far, that is proving to be a serious issue.

Not really that true, he "ran" for President with Oprah once before, and has been outspoken on many political / current events for years. Probably longer than Meryl Streep.

Strangers on the internet and people with degrees that make them feel entitled to tell everyone else how smart they are.

none of that even needs to be done.

just review his 30 years in the spotlight as a celebrity.
And just what are we to conclude regarding the efficaciousness of his future presidency? I don't know how you can defend such "logic"...but I'm all ears.

Are you saying he's not a Washington outsider? Because Trump would tell you otherwise.

First, can someone explain to me why we as the american people care about what an actress (or any celebrity for that matter) says about the president elect of the United States? Actors and actresses are quite literally some of the least important and sophisticated people in the world. I'm ont taking anything away from their talent. But it stands to reason that they are not the people we should be looking to for guidance regarding societal morals, etc.

Second, can someone please explain to me why the president elect of the United States cares about what an actress (or any celebrity for that matter) says about him? Moreover, why in the hell is is the president elect communicating about it via twitter?

Heh, did you not gather enough information over the last 2 years about The CheetoJesus to make you think that he would act in any other way? Dude is like clockwork. Trigger him and he goes off, ignoring everything of any importance. Meanwhile, Pakistan rushes into Northern India and Putin terrorizes the Baltic nations. Sad!

Republicans support this behavior.

What do you mean that it's a slur? It's a statement of fact. I would never say that Trump should be excluded from our political conversation simply because he was a reality TV personality like you just tried to. The reason that Trump shouldn't be president and should probably keep his mouth shut about policy issues is that he is incompetent and almost totally ignorant of them, not because he was on TV.

No job is special and no job inherently qualifies or disqualifies you for speaking out about things you care about.

ah, so now celebrities should just stay in their places and not comment. How republican: government in your classroom, and in your bedroom, telling you what your job should be, how you should live your life and spend your money and time.

These are the people that elected a deplorable celebrity, complaining about celebrities getting in their faces in public. Party of personal accountability strikes again!

I can't wait until January 20, when I roll out my new line of Trump dildos and Trump butt-plugs. Free to the first 200 conservatives that place their order!

Which celebrity possesses the competency to be President then? And what specifically are you basing that on?
