Well their JOBS are specifically to entertain and, to Streep's point, show us lives of other people -- not the ones in a Michael Bay film, but those lives of people that have lived (or are living) different lives from ourselves so that we might, even if for 90 mins walk in their shoes and get a better perspective of what they have/had to go through -- their struggles and triumphs.
