I don't think it's fair to fault the Mexican government for doing this, when the US govenment gives tax breaks for companies that move jobs out of the US.
Like someone else mentioned in their solution for this problem, one of the first steps has to be the US and Mexico working together to resolve this. I don't think this will happen though (when pigs fly?).

We want to have a safe border for the benefit of our citizens and for the benefit of our relationship with the United States. Likewise, we have intensified our actions with the OASISS Project. We are going after the criminals that are trafficking with people that are, let's say, promoting illegally the movement of citizens to the United States -- the alien smugglers. We have stopped more than 120 of these criminals, alien smugglers. Likewise, in the southern border, as President Bush said, we are very active, very active on what has to do with patrol, constructions of different stations so as to stop migrants, illegal migrants, people that are coming illegally to the Mexican territory, and sending them back to their own countries with due respect to human rights. But we're doing an efficient work in that sense.

Well I feel so much safer now that Mexico has their southern boarder under control, now if we could just get some help on the northern border. With US dollars sent home by illegals being Mexico's second biggest source of income, I wouldn't hold my breath while waiting for that help.

What Bush said

Today we had a very important discussion. We discussed border security. The President understands and I understand we have an obligation to secure our borders. And I want to thank your government for sending out such a strong statement about the need for -- that the shared responsibility we have. In other words, border security is not just one country's prerogative; it's the prerogative and duty of both countries. And we spent time talking about how to work together to continue to strengthen that cooperation necessary to do our duty.

I also appreciate the President's work to enforce Mexico's southern border. It's a difficult job, but, nevertheless, the President shared with me the strategies he's employing to do that job, as well.

Obviously, the migration issue came up. I told the President there is a legislative process that's going forward, and that it may look cumbersome to some, but that's how our democracy works. I told the President that I am committed to having a comprehensive immigration bill on my desk. And by "comprehensive" I mean not only border security -- a bill that has border security in it, a bill that has interior enforcement in it, but a bill that has a worker permit program in it. And that's an important part of having a border that works.

We don't want people sneaking into our country that are going to do jobs Americans won't do, we want them coming in, in an orderly way -- which will take pressure off of both our borders. And I explained to the President my vision of the citizenship issue. I don't believe somebody should be allowed to come into our country and get ahead of the line, the citizenship line.

We don't need citizens, just cheap labor to do the jobs that the citizens won't???
Bullsht, show me proof that Americans won't do those jobs for minimum wage. I've done everything from a dishwasher to a cook to a tree trimmer to a road asphalt crew to pay my way through college. At 2 of those jobs, I made minimum wage, but was happy just to earn any cash to help pay for books and tuition. Don't tell me that Americans won't do the jobs, that's BS.

If Americans will do them, why do we have 5% unemployment and at least 10% of our workforce illegals?

If you lose your job are you going to take the first burger flipping job that comes around or are you going to spend soem time on the unemployment roles looking for the best job you can get for yourself?? Unemployement is low actually.

Then consider that the jobs in question have the pay lowered due to the 10% (your number) illegal immigrant work force in this country. Without them the jobs would pay better, now wouldn't they. If they paid better then more people would be willing to do them.

Are you willing to live in a house with 3 other familes in order to work that cheap? I didn't think so, but iot seems you expect others to.

That is a win-win situation for Mexico. They continue to get companies to move to Mexico and the US taxpayer helps to bankroll it. Then they also get to have Mexicans coming to the US and sending home as much money as they can.

Now what is the American worker getting? He is getting the demand for his labor dropping and now has to compete with people that will be afraid to say one bad word against their employer. Oh, he gets to keep paying more for gas, health care, taxes, etc. at the same time. It's the new Republican incentive program, get your ass to work or we'll get a "guest worker" to replace you. Mush!!

Because the Republicans have been fudging the numbers since they took control.

Eventually the perverbial sh!t will hit the fan and it will be too late for the American sheeple to wake up.

Since when does the United States of America allow foreign governments to set our immigration and border security policies?

Answer: since george w. bush took over.

Exactly right! Fox and Bush used to skip classes together at college and smoked their doobies.

It's not entirely the laws that need reforming. The number one thing that needs to be done before any immigration reform can begin is to reform the USCIS administration! The entire CIS admin has been performed by the same people for years, probably decades. You can change the name of the game from the INS to the CIS, but the dealers are the same. I'd say fire the lot of them and get some fresh blood in there. One CIS office will interpret the laws one way while another office reads them completely different. I questioned an immigration officer about a particular law and he proceeded to tell me some bullshit answer. When I asked to see the passage in the regulations, he said he could remember where it was. When he finally came up with something for me, it had nothing to do with my original question. Basically, the guy didn't have a clue!
And he's charged with giving people their immigration interview.

Fox partial quote:

Wow! a whole 120 of them :disgust:

Does that strike anyone as a laughably lame amount?

We have an estimated 11-13 million illegals, boy, those 120 guys were really busy

It seems rather low, yes, to say the least. Also, they are probably just the lackeys and easily replaced.

I agree with your views on illegal immigration, but you are being extremely biased. Do you think illegals suddenly decided in 2000 that since Bush was in power, they could come over freely? This has been happening for a long time, the media just decided that since it has no news, it wants to talk about illegal immigrants.

We gave amnesty to all the ilegals in 1996, 3 million of them. 10 years later we have 12 million illegals. It's not a problem that is just being noticed by the media, they've been aware of it for sometime. The deal is Congress wants to pass another amnesty bill and give illegals "guest worker" status. They even want legalize up to an additional 3 million a year beside giving the ones we have legal status. Check it out:
