Is it considered to be racist or at least bigoted to consider anyone who speaks English with a real thick accent or any Third World one to be scammer if that person calls you?
Only to virtue signalling fucktards whos only joy in life is to pretend they are better than everyone else.

because of the other recent thread, somewhere, I forget--I've been watching IRLrosie videos as well. That lady is damn talented (voice actor). the anti-scammer youtubers also do a lot of collaboration work--her + kitboga are hilarious.

There's an app, I forget what it's called, where she has contributed a bunch of files and I guess all of those people have, that will directly route spam calls to one of their pre-recorded voice files, and there are some examples of how they've been keeping scammers on the line for up 10 minutes or so, talking to the voicemail. lol.

It also records each of the calls so that you can play them back.

RoboKiller, I think it's called?

She also has that Alexa voice down
Nice! I haven't heard of her; I'll have to check it out!

Some of the kinky ways to have fun are the most fun. Scamming scammers would have to be up there. I have to revisit that on Youtube, or whereever they are. Links?????

Your lady E Holmes is going to be a distant memory in your brain, my friend.
LOL. I had to Google "Elizabeth Holmes" cause I wasn't sure who you were referring to right away, for some reason. ROFL those crazy ass eyes. Hahaha oh man. Looks like some other SOB married her last year though.

without investigating that, I'm assuming it's the same financier that was pumping money into Theranos, while illegally hiding the fact to the board that they were dating/engaged during the entire time that Theranos existed?

I don't think so. She broke up with that Sonny guy (I think that was his name) that was old enough to be her pappy, and met a guy who's actually now younger than her by like 8 years or something. The paragraph I read said he was a hotel heir but I dunno anything beyond that. Then I saw another link about his family worrying she "brainwashed" him lol.

Money, esp. BIG MONEY, has a big effect on a lot of people. Messes up their perception, thinking. It's like gravity or magnetic or electric fields. You know, the way gravity warps space... Money has a field of its own. If (!!!) you're sensitive to it. The people who are not sensitive to it are special!

You made remember about this one scam call that sounded so fake, that one could just guess the scammer was a newbie.
No one picked up the call, but it got recorded on the answering machine. It was like the following...
Computerized voice : "Hello." [Pause] (For just a second I thought, why the hell is a CVS calling from Texas?)
Computerized voice : *Loud sound of books falling when the computer starts talking again in a deep toned loud voice.* "This is the IRS". (Right away knew its fake.)
*Dramatic music starts playing quietly in the background as the computer talks.. blah balh blah we will reposes your property and cars... blah blah raid your home.. blah blah take you to court... blah blah call back at some 800 fake IRS number.

It was just so fake.

Only got that call again once. Never got a call exactly like that again. The second time was like almost the beginning of last year.

There is this department in my company, no idea where they are or exactly what they do, I think they're some kind of after hours help desk but they have people that sound exactly like scammers, like everything from the tone of voice and weird delays etc. Almost robotic. Every now and then they call us and I think they literally have a list of English words on a piece of paper to recite and it's the only words they know. They call us and try to offload DSL troubles to us when we don't even have access to the DSLAMs in that region. I feel so bad for the customers who have to deal with those guys. They always start the call with "Agent ID" and a bunch of numbers, and then they don't say anything after, so I always know it's them as soon as I pickup and just tell them they have the wrong number. If I let the call proceed it usually goes something like this:

Me: "[standard greeting]"
Caller: "Agent ID 83938473" (very thick scammer like accent)
...
...
...
Me: "Yes hello? How can I help you."
...
...
Caller: "Slow ..... speed"
...
Me: "Slow what? T1?"
Caller: "D...S....L"
Me: "Sorry we don't do that here you're better off making a ticket for tomorrow"
Caller: "But slow... Need send tech. "

Then it's just me trying to explain that we can't do anything and at some point they hang up.

android has had this forever, literally forever. its called do not disturb mode. learn to use your phone.

ok not forever, since 2014.
your android has done this for a LONG time now. it ignores everyone except those who you deem special. welcome to 2 years ago!

I should've worded it clearer, I meant the new pixel 4 feature that actually has google assistant answer possible robocalls for you and transfers the call back to your phone if it deems to caller to be legit.

It would be better if we could also listen in on the auto-answer conversation and have the ability to transfer the call back manually.

1) They're getting paid, you're not. Talking slowly does not equate to winning. You're intentionally wasting your own time.

THEYY may be getting paid, but the more time we can waste of theirs the less profitable it becomes, less profit means its less lucrative and desirable to do in the first place

I might do it if I could record it the way you see on Youtube. I watched around 1/2 dozen of those over the weekend. Some of those people (not the scammers) are pretty clever and some very sophisticated. One guy was adept at exerting control of the scammer's computer and deleting folders and files, essentually putting the bastard out of business. I marvel that the computer control by remote programs allow access both ways ... <----> . It's as though you have as much control over their computer as they have over yours. Why is that?

If you have a mind to fuck with them I think it's a real good idea to watch a bunch of those videos. That will give you great ideas of how to avoid sticking your neck out and some great amusing tricks you can use to string the bastards along and have fun in the process. Some of the marks are really imaginative and quite bold and funny in the things they come up with.

This is bizzare, are your customers tech companies because it makes no sense to call residential customers to complain about DSLAMs.
